Genetikk is a German hip-hop crew that was under contract with the German label Selfmade Records , but has now released them under the self-founded label OUTTA THIS WORLD Records . It consists of the rapper Kappa and the producer Sikk.

Kappa and Sikk come from Saarbrücken . They met during their school days and, according to their own account, began to record music together around the age of thirteen. This created a hip-hop band, which was expanded and reduced again several times by members. About a year before their first release, Karuzo and Sikk decided to work together as a duo under the name Genetikk.

In October 2010 they released their first album Foetus for free download under the group name Genetikk . Sikk and Karuzo recorded this in Paris . Foetus was classified by reviews, for example through the website Mixtapesammelstelle: "dirty real-gangster charm" by Nate57 and "comic-like overdrawing of your own character" as with Favorite . Both on the cover of Foetus and in the duo's music videos, rapper Karuzo subsequently appeared with face paint. In spring 2011 Genetikk announced their second album, entitled Samsara, for November 2011. Thereupon music videos appeared for the songs Incubation , Genie und Wahnsinn and Konichiwa Bitches . The video for Konichiwa Bitches was later deleted by Genetikk because, according to their own statement, it no longer met the demands of the duo.

At the beginning of October 2011 Karuzo announced the postponement of the album Samsara . After another video for the second album was released in November 2011 with Puls , it was announced at the end of December that Genetikk had signed an artist contract with Selfmade Records. The title of the second album was then changed to Voodoo circus . With king of liars end of January was released another music video 2012th The hip-hop musician DCVDNS has a guest appearance in the video . In February 2012, Genetikk appeared as the opening act on the German tour of the US hip-hop musician GZA . From February 4 to February 8, the duo was represented at four of the rapper's concerts. Before the release of the second album, Sorry, another video adaptation was released. On February 24, 2012 at the online store of independent labels and appeared on iTunes Voodoo Circus as the first commercial album Genetikks. With this, the duo was able to reach number 1 on the iTunes charts. In April 2012 Genetikk performed in the course of the "Oui je le suis European tour" of the French rapper Sefyu at three concerts in the opening act.

In October 2012 Genetikk signed a publishing contract with the media group BMG Germany . At the same time to the album Voodoo Circus on October 26 on CD and vinyl on November 30, as republished . From October 20 to December 29, 2012, the duo completed a joint tour with 257ers and DCVDNS under the title “People, Animals, AKKtractions” .

Her album DNA was released on June 21, 2013 on Selfmade Records. It entered the German album charts at number 1 and was also able to place in the top 10 of the Swiss and Austrian charts . In addition to its commercial success, the album also received praise from the music media and news magazines, and the iTunes editorial team named DNA album of the year across all genres.

In the course of working on a new album, the group grew from the duo to seven members, who are not all directly involved in the musical result, but are still part of the creative work around Genetikk, especially the fashion label Hikids . As a place of collaboration, they founded the Studio Factory in Saarbrücken, which is based on Andy Warhol's atelier The Factory .

On February 11, 2015, Genetikk announced the third studio album, Eighth Day , on the Selfmade Records label for May 8, 2015 via their official Facebook page . On March 6th, the first two single releases from the album, Achter Tag / Dago , appeared as a video on the Selfmade Records YouTube channel. On April 10th, the music video for the second single Wünsch dir was followed , which contains a sample of the song of the same name by Die Toten Hosen . A week before the LP was released, the collaboration Jungs aus'm Barrio with the Bonn rapper SSIO was released. Eighth day , whose beats were not exclusively produced by Sikk as before, but in particular in collaboration with Samon Kawamura , rose to the top of the charts in the first week of publication and was able to surpass the success of DNA with 60,000 units sold . In August 2016, the album achieved gold status in Germany for 100,000 units sold.

On November 26th, 2015 it was announced that Genetikk had signed a contract with Warner / Chappell Music . On October 8, 2016, Genetikk announced the new album Fukk Genetikk . It was released on December 2nd, 2016. In December 2017, Genetikk announced the separation from Selfmade Records and the establishment of their label "Outta this World". In the course of this, the Duo Tiavo was announced as the first official signing. Her album DNA2 was released on August 17th, 2018 . On October 19th, 2018 the album YALA was released , which stands for "You always live again". The album OUTTATHISWORLD - RADIO SHOW VOL was released on November 29, 2019 . 1 . Genetikk announced their sixth studio album MDNA in 2019 for 2020 .
