Favorite (born February 18, 1986 in Essen ; bourgeois Christoph Alex ) is a German rapper who is currently inactive in this role.

Life

At the age of twelve, Favorite lost his parents to a cable fire, whereupon he first grew up with his aunt and uncle and later spent several years in various children's homes. The rapper addresses the loss of his parents, for example, in the song Gegen den Herrn , which can be heard on his debut album Harlekin , in the single I miss you and in the song Nirvana on the album Christoph Alex .

At the age of 15 Favorite began to write lyrics and a little later to rap too. In 2004 Slick One , a co-founder of the Selfmade Records label , became aware of Favorite. At the end of 2004 the rapper was signed to Selfmade Records . He first appeared on the label sampler Schwarzes Gold with the title Ruhrpott 4 Life .

Favorite first project was the album Rapping Can Be Deadly , which was released in 2005 and was created in collaboration with his childhood friend Jason.

Favorite's first solo album Harlequin was released in 2007. It was mostly produced by Rizbo , the producer of Selfmade Records . Kollegah , Jason and Slick One are represented as guest musicians .

His second solo album Anarcho appeared on May 2, 2008. At the Making of the clip to Anarcho Rap confirmed Favorite that on the album Kollegah, Nico of KIZ , Kool Savas and Hollywood Hank are represented. Furthermore, Shiml was named as a further feature guest on Selfmade Records' homepage one month before the album was released . Shortly afterwards, the video for I miss you was published.

On December 6th, 2008, the collab mixtape Beats for Hip Hop with Hollywood Hank was released , which was only available in a limited edition in the Selfmade Records Shop. The album was sold out before it was released. Favorite and Hollywood Hank used the chorus of the right-wing rock band Sleipnir "Bombe" for the intro .

On May 6, 2011, his third solo album, Christoph Alex , was released, which reached fourth place in the German album charts and sold more than 20,000 copies.

The first single "Europe's most important man" to favorites, fourth solo album "Neues von Gott", was released on November 7, 2014 on the Selfmade Records YouTube channel.

On December 12th, 2014 Selfmade Legenden (feat. Kollegah) released the second single for Neues von Gott . The album was released on January 23, 2015 and brought Favorite to the top of the German charts for the first time .

On September 22, 2017 Favorite announced that his fifth solo album Alternative für Deutschland will be released on November 24, 2017 . The first single On The Mission was released on October 27th, with the production, like on some other songs on Alternative für Deutschland , being taken over by the former house producer of Selfmade Rizbo. The album was released on November 24, 2017 and entered the German charts at number 15.

In June 2018 Favorite and Selfmade Records ended the collaboration. At the beginning of 2019 Favorite announced the founding of their own label (BuyOrDie-Records). He and rapper Raf45 would publish their music on the label in the future. On June 7, 2020, the artist announced the end of his career after the commercial success of his own label did not meet initial expectations.
