Vega (* 1985 in Langen (Hessen) ; bourgeois Andre Witter ) is a German rapper from Frankfurt . He is the founder and owner of the record label Friends of Nobody .

biography

Vega was born in 1985 in Langen (Hessen) to a German mother and an Italian - Sicilian father. He grew up in Höchst an der Nidder , a village about 25 km from Frankfurt. After coming into contact with rap early on, he soon bought his first equipment and put an EP with five songs on the internet under the name VRS at the time .

After further EPs, which were made available on the Internet, he published - again on the Internet - the Unzerfikkbar Mixtape in 2005 , which has been downloaded over 5,000 times to date. He then became a member of the Rare Squad rap crew . Later he met the two Berlin rappers Sentino and Kid Kobra. With the latter and the producer Djorkaeff , he then recorded the song No longer festive , which Abroo heard from Buckwheats Music . This then made Vega known to his label boss Separate , whereupon Vega signed with Buckwheats Music .

After numerous features with artists on his label, the collaboration album German Problems with Separate was finally released in 2006 . As a result, a solo album by Vega was announced several times, which, however, was postponed again and again despite numerous announcements. As a result, Vega offered the EP Adlerjunge for free download in 2007 . In early 2008, Vega separated from Buckwheats Music. Nevertheless, he then did a tour with Casper , Maeckes & Plan B and Pimpulsiv , on which he also played his first solo songs.

This is how Bosca became aware of him. Vega was later also involved in the Mammut remix of The Proof , for which a video was also released. At the end of 2008 Vega founded his label Butterfly Music together with the producer team Emonex (M1X) from Mainz .

On October 9, 2009, Vega released his debut album Lieber ich broke . On September 30, 2010 the free online EP The Truth is Ugly followed , on which Marc Reis , Olson Rough and singer Tareq are represented. In addition, Vega announced in a statement that month that there was a split in the dispute between co-founder Emonex and him. Vega also announced that he would no longer be allowed to use the names Vega and Butterfly Music, protected by his ex-partner, in the future. Emonex has also banned the live performance of its produced tracks by means of a legal letter to Vega.

In March 2011 Vega founded the record label Friends of Nobody , where, in addition to the previous artists, the rappers Bosca , Bizzy Montana , Face, Migo and Timeless as well as the producers Johnny Pepp , Cristalbeats and Jumpa are under contract.

Vega is also an avowed member of the Frankfurt ultra group Ultras Frankfurt 97 , which is repeatedly represented in his texts and videos.

On January 13, 2012, Vegas' second album Vincent was released , which entered the album charts at number 5 in Germany and at number 28 in Austria and was thus able to record its first chart successes for himself and his label "Friends of Nobody".

His third album Nero , released on January 11, 2013, entered the album charts at number 2 in Germany. In August 2013, the split from Hadi El-Dor, the then manager of Friends of Nobody, was announced.

On January 16, 2015, Vegas released their fourth solo album Kaos , with which he reached the top of the German charts for the first time . In June 2015, Vega founded a new music label together with the FvN manager Andereas Schnell under the name Über die Grenz . He announced the first signings with Born, Samson Jones (formerly Jonesman) and Montez.

On March 9, 2018, Vega released his fifth solo album V , which reached number 4 in the German charts.
