Juvel (* 1982 in Tehran , civil Hamoon Zargaran Javaher ) is a German rapper from Hamburg with Iranian origin. His stage name Juvel was derived from his surname Javaher , which translated means gemstone .

biography

Juvel was born in Tehran in 1982. He grew up in the posh north of Tehran as the son of a writer and a Siemens CEO. Due to the first Gulf War that was raging at the time , the family fled to a home for asylum seekers in Hamburg-Langenhorn . So spent Juvel most of his childhood in Hamburg, where he later on Helene-Lange-Gymnasium his High School graduated. He came into contact with rap through his big brother. At the age of fourteen he rapped his first texts, back then in English . He began rapping professionally when he was rapping his first German lyrics while his music label Curtains Up was being formed . There he published the free online mixtape Free Entry in 2008 , in which he rapped over the beats of his label partner PhreQuency that were already in use . In May 2009, Juvel's debut album Wolkenloch was released , which featured features by Azad , Manuellsen , Bass Sultan Hengzt , Josof and Fauzy.
