Bass Sultan Hengzt
Bass Sultan Hengzt (born August 14, 1981 in Berlin ; real name Fabio Ferzan Cataldi ) is a German rapper of Italian - Turkish descent from Berlin. Since 2012 he has been using the stage name BSH more and more .
Origin of the stage name
Cataldi, whose family originally came from Turkey on his mother's side and from Italy on his father's side, started his rap career with the Berlin underground label Bassboxxx . That's where his name comes from, as he said in the magazine Juice : Bass for Bassboxxx, one of the first Berlin labels, “ Sultan like Bigboss”, “Hengzt is supposed to represent the Italian side - Italian Stallion.” His two brothers are also active as rappers , his older under the pseudonym Mr. Long , his younger than Gino Cazino . Mr. Long also released rap recordings on the Amstaff label .
biography
Together with Bushido and King Orgasmus One, Bass Sultan Hengzt rapped as BMW ( Berlins Most Wanted ) on I Luv Money Records . In 2003 his album "Rap does not need a high school diploma" came on the market, which was indexed on January 29, 2005 . In addition, an album with MC Bogy , "From District to District" was released.
After Bushido opened his own record company ersguterjunge with Major Urban / Universal, Bass Sultan Hengzt released a solo album there with the title "Rap still doesn't need a high school diploma". According to his own statements, Hengzt did not have an artist contract with ersguterjunge .
After leaving ersguterjunge , Hengzt recorded a song with Bushido's former friend and competitor Fler (“Pass Auf”). A song statement was released on October 23, 2005. In it, Bass Sultan Hengzt Bushido blames his exit, he is afraid of being outdone by him, and he also sees all of his friends as competitors.
In February 2006 the Bloodhound Gang's Germany tour was accompanied by Sultan Hengzt together with his colleagues Automatikk , Mr. Long and Frauenarzt as the opening act. However, after riots in Leipzig between him and BHG fans, the collaboration was terminated.
Since Bass Sultan Hengzt left ersguterjunge , he has been very close to the rappers around Aggro Berlin . There were features by Fler and Sido on his third solo album Berliner Schnauze . Hengzt was also represented as a feature on Aggro Announcement No. 5 from Aggro Berlin. The common song Schlampe by Hengzt and Fler was one of the reasons for the indexing of the sampler.
His third solo album Berliner Schnauze was released in early 2006 by Amstaff-Murderbass, a cooperation between Amstaff Muzx and Murderbass , the production company around DJ Ilan , founded especially for this purpose . The songs Berliner Schnauze and Millionär were released as singles. The album is more personal than the others and stands out due to the collaboration with Afrob ("Fick him") and J-Luv ("Do you know me yet"). Other guest parts come from Sido, Fler, Godsilla , label colleagues Automatikk, King Orgasmus One, Bo $$ bitch Berlin & DJ Devin. Most of the album was produced by the Berlin producer Ilan . The Beathoavenz , Paul NZA & Killian, DJ Desue and DJ Rocky delivered more beats for the audio carrier.
In June 2006, Bass Sultan Hengzt and his crew were on tour as the opening act for 50 Cent at various concerts in Germany.
On August 28, Hengzt co-hosted the MTV show Urban TRL . After the rapper had already reached number 1 on the TRL Most Wanted in the previous two weeks , he was also able to achieve the highest ranking of the show on August 28th.
Hengzt's fourth solo album The Butterfly Effect was released on September 14, 2007 . The first single was released on August 31st, the song Butterfly Effect . The album contains features from, among others, Automatikk, King Orgasmus One, Sido and Xavier Naidoo . Bass Sultan Hengzt uses personal themes on this album and moves away from pure battle rap . The problematic texts, which are still kept in the old style, were not printed in the booklet.
Bass Sultan Hengzt said in an interview that he would turn away from rapping after this album The Butterfly Effect , because he said it was too easy. He will turn to a different musical direction. After some demo recordings with the rock band Poprockz , however, he returned to the rap business in May 2009 with his album Payday . In advance he published the Bushido diss song Exguterjunge on YouTube . In December 2009, his fifth album Payday was indexed.
On April 4, 2014, Bass Sultan Hengzt's sixth solo album was finally released . Most of the album was produced by Serk .
Between February and April 2014, BSH supported Sido on his tour through German-speaking countries.
Hengzt's seventh solo album Music Because of Weibaz was released on May 15, 2015. His eighth album 2ahltag followed on February 24, 2017 : Riot .
Armed attack on Hengzt
On February 6, 2008, Bass Sultan Hengzt was attacked by a stalker with a knife. The attack that occurred in Berlin-Schöneberg was repelled by a companion of the rapper. After the police arrived, Bass Sultan Hengzt and his two companions were falsely arrested. They then spent the night in a prisoner collection point.
Initiative against violence
The rapper Bass Sultan Hengzt supported the Stop Tokat initiative . This is a network initiative that aims to reduce the number of robberies and acts of violence in Berlin-Kreuzberg . Migrant associations and celebrities like Murat Topal have already committed to the goals of Stopp Tokat . Tokat is a Turkish term and translated means slap in the face or pulling off . The partners in the network will, among other things, hold discussions at schools in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
Fashion
In addition to his rap career, Bass Sultan Hengzt also owns two fashion labels: Who Shot Ya? and AMSTAFF . Both brands are mainly sold through DefShop , where other rappers, for example Fler or Kollegah , also sell their brands. AMSTAFF founded Hengzt with his brother, they are still the owners of the GmbH. The rights to The Notorious BIG- inspired brand Who Shot Ya? sold Hengzt to DefShop .
