Guest Posts

Sido at the Hip Hop Open

Berliner Schnauze contains various guest contributions by German rappers. The rapper Fler , who was under contract with Aggro Berlin at the time of creation, is involved in three songs. Bass Sultan Hengzt and Fler have known each other since their school days and have already worked together on various recordings. Automatick , which like Hengzt are contractually bound to the Amstaff Muzx label , have a contribution on AMSTAFF and the singer J-Luv can be heard on Do you know me yet . Speeches can be heard on two skits . DJ Devin and KORS were involved in this. The participation of the rapper Afrob is a surprise . Unlike Hengzt, he belongs to the Stuttgart hip-hop scene and mainly collaborates with artists such as Brothers Keepers or Samy Deluxe . In an interview with Juice , Bass Sultan Hengzt made positive comments about Afrob's musical style. As a result, later the piece Fick him was created .

Rapper King Orgasm One

“We met by chance at the Beathoavenz when I was listening to beats for my album. He came in, thanked him for the props I gave him and then we just chatted a bit. He later came into the studio and recorded a bombshell part. The thing has definitely become a hit. "

The singer Bo $$ bitch Berlin can be heard on two songs. This is known today under the name Celina . This is how I am created with the participation of Aggro Berlin member Sido . Furthermore, the rapper Godsilla and I Luv Money Records founder King Orgasmus One were involved in the creation of Berliner Schnauze . After Bushido was excluded from the formation of Berlins Most Wanted by Hengzt , the group is now formed by these three rappers.

Seven producers were involved in the creation of Berliner Schnauze . The main producer of the album is DJ Ilan . In addition to the last day of school , rapper as a friend , clown rapper , playboy , 1001 nights and please stop , he also had the songs Fick Him , I didn't need you for that, money is the reason , AMSTAFF , Down , Come on , do you remember me and Berliner Schnauze . J-Luv has in common with Ilan production of the song you still know me over. In addition, the singer Bo $$ Bitch Berlin was involved in the beat of Playboy . The Beathoavenz , which are mainly known for productions for rappers on the Aggro Berlin label , are responsible for the background music for the piece Goldkettentrend 2 . Ismael "DJ Rocky" Koray produced the piece of music Don't be afraid , on which rapper Godsilla has a guest contribution. DJ Desue , who in 2006 was responsible for a large part of the productions of the album Trendsetter by rapper Fler, contributed the beat to Dumm Fickt gut . Since I've been rapping , Paul NZA & Killian have produced it. Paul NZA further has also the production of how I'm taken. In an interview, Hengzt commented on the selection of the beats and explained why, compared to his previous albums, he called on other hip-hop producers to work on Berliner Schnauze .

“I've always wanted to rap on a Desue beat. Something like that came from the side of my management, which people introduced me to. I mean, the fact is, a good rapper needs good beats. And almost all of Germany's top producers have contributed to “Berliner Schnauze”. That is [...] not mean that I no longer on a Serk would rap -Beat just because his name is not as great as that of the Beathoavenz. To be honest, I would still rap on any beat as long as it is good and suits me. "

marketing

The Berlin rapper Harris

The level of awareness created by guest appearances on Aggro Ansage No. 5 ("Schlampe") and Electro Ghetto ("Gangbang") helped Hengzt to market the album. He was invited to TRL and played his first two video clips on the singles Berliner Schnauze and Millionär on VIVA and MTV . With "Millionär" Bass Sultan Hengzt reached number 1 several times in the TRL Most Wanted . The Bravo , the Backspin and the Juice also reported on Hengzt.

The video for “Berliner Schnauze” takes place in the sewer system, which at the beginning of the video is entered by Hengzt, Fler and other people through a gully. Other guests who appear in the video are your favorite rappers Sido and Harris . The second track was "Millionär" released as a single. The video clip for “Millionär” shows Hengzt in the process of printing money. The rapper's wishes regarding his living conditions and his ideas for the future are also presented. At the end of the clip, the song “Rapper als Freund” is played. Fler and King Orgasmus One perform as guests .

The first single was released on January 27, 2006. Six different versions of the song “Berliner Schnauze” can be heard on it. These are the original, the "clean" and the instrumental version as well as the remixes by DJ Desue, Beathoavenz and Paul NZA & Kilian. In addition, the clip for the track is on the single. reception

success

Berliner Schnauze reached number 28 on the German album charts. This represents an increase in relation to Hengzt's previous album Rap Still does not need a high school diploma , which took 74th place. Berliner Schnauze stayed in the list of the 100 best-selling albums of the week for nine weeks.

The single zu Millionär reached number 44 in the singles charts. The song Berliner Schnauze , which was released as the first piece, rose to number 95. Bass Sultan Hengzt was able to sell 50,000 copies of the Berliner Schnauze album in six months .

criticism

The hip-hop magazine Juice rated Berliner Schnauze 4.5 out of a possible 6 “crowns”. The review was exceptionally positive. Among other things, the beats used on the sound carrier, as well as the songs "Fick him" and "Please listen up" are highlighted by the editor as successful.

“Above all, humorously valuable“ Come on ”, an amusing argument between Hengzt and his cock, as well as“ 1001 Nights ” featuring King Orgasmus One, who goes by the name of“ Sheikh Manfred ”. From the little music to flying carpets and of course harem fantasies, he unpacks everything he can think of about “Orient” - when it comes to madness, Hengzt simply loses out here. There is no space at this point to go into detail about the hit single "Millionär", the consistently successful feature tracks with Sido, J-Luv and Godsilla. That it was in Berlin tongue is a thick pack of above-average track but it should be clear. Hit album with a high entertainment factor. "

- Excerpt from the evaluation of Berliner Schnauze

Berliner Schnauze also received a good rating from the editors of Backspin . They gave the sound carrier 4 out of a possible 5 evaluation points. As in the Juice review , Backspin also praised the production of the rapper's third album.

“No question about it, Bass Sultan Hengzt knows how to entertain with his lyrics, if you are looking for street humor, you will definitely find it here. Songs like “Berliner Schnauze”, “So bin ich” feat. Sido, "Goldkettentrend" feat. Fler or “1001 Nights” feat. King Orgasmus One & Bo $$ Bitch Berlin. […] In spite of all this, it has to be said: Bass Sultan Hengzt is not a master of rap technique like Kool Savas , and unfortunately some tracks turn out to be a bit short-lived. “Berliner Schnauze” is still recommended. Alone because of his refreshing anti-hip-hop dress code attitude or his funny, one could also say self-deprecating lyrics like in “Please stop”. In addition, BSH will probably not be one of those rappers who have already passed their zenith with their first album, which is why it will hopefully continue to riot in the future. "
