Skit

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Skit (English for parodistic or satirical sketch) is a short radio play-like piece on a music album . Skits are especially common in hip-hop , but also in other music styles such as contemporary R&B , dancehall or dub . They serve the self-portrayal of the artist, the conveyance of a political statement or simply the amusement. The skits of an album often follow a uniform thematic or stylistic scheme. Skits are often accompanied by a melody or a beat.
