0.9 is the second studio album by the German rapper SSIO . It was released on January 29, 2016 via the label Alles oder Nix Records and distributed by Groove Attack .

history

After SSIO released his debut album BB.UMSS.N in 2013 , he largely withdrew from the scene and only appeared as a guest on a few tracks of befriended rapper. In September 2015 it was finally announced that the album 0.9 would be released in January 2016. Shortly after the album was announced, a music video by Kollegah and Karate Andi appeared , on which SSIO was a feature guest to promote the label sampler Chronik 3 from Selfmade Records . An album tour for March 2016 was announced shortly.

In December, the first video single for the album was released with Nullkommaneun , further releases followed with SIM card , Half Human, Half Nose and I Fibicke Everyone .

The album reached number 1 in the German album charts in February 2016. It was ranked 57th in the German album charts in 2016 and 10th in the hip-hop annual charts. In total, 0.9 sold more than 40,000 copies.

criticism

The album received mostly positive reviews after its release. For Backspin, “SSIO and REAF balance perfectly between innovation and tradition at“ 0.9 ”.” In one rating, the album got 8 out of 10 points and impresses with the delivery and production by SSIO.

Laut.de gave the album four out of five possible points and found that the album sounds much more coherent than its predecessor BB.UMSS.N , to which the production of Reaf contributes a large part: “They don't just adapt the Westcoast sound . It creaks, cracks and bangs out of the speakers with so much attention to detail that you literally want to wrap yourself up in the cozy, warm beat carpet. ” Although there are no thematic innovations, “ it confirms its status as an extraordinary phenomenon with “0.9” that everyone can somehow agree on. "

The website MZEE.com describes the album as a successful continuation of "BB.UMSS.N.", on which the artist now has much more space to show himself from his best side.
