Acupuncture is the second collaboration album by the Frankfurt rapper duo Celo & Abdi . It was released on June 6, 2014 on the Azzlackz label .

On March 14, 2014, the two artists announced that their new album Akupuncture would be released on May 30, 2014. The release of the album has been postponed from May 30th to June 6th. The reason given was that they had been waiting for a feature that had not yet been completed.

The first video release appeared on March 23 for the song Generation Tschö . More videos followed for Just 60 Seconds , Undergroundchiefs , Sector 6-0 , This is Just the Beginning and Hadouken . The video for Just 60 Seconds more features, among other things, an appearance by actor Moritz Bleibtreu . A video snippet was also published, which briefly alludes to each of the album tracks.

Most of the album was produced by the music producer m3. Two productions each come from Farhot, Bazzazian and Reaf. Abaz , Azad , the Bounce Brothas and 187Beats each contributed a beat to the album.

Acupuncture was recorded by Syn at the Idéal studios and mixed and mastered by Lex Barkey .

Chart successes

Acupuncture entered the German album charts at number 3 on June 20, 2014. 10th place was achieved in Switzerland and 14th place in Austria.

The internet portal Laut.de rated the album in a review with 3 out of 5 stars. The author Dani Fromm praises the " insidiously oppressive atmosphere " and the " variety in the productions ". However, she would have expected more depth from the two rappers.

At rappers.in , acupuncture received 5 out of 6 points. The author, Florian Peking, notes in his review that the album would fit seamlessly into the compelling discography of Celo & Abdi. There would be little missing from the album, because the album shows independence, creativity, rap skills and humor.
