life and career
Credibil was born in Marburg . He first consciously came into contact with rap music at the age of nine. Later his parents separated. At the age of 14 he moved to Frankfurt am Main , where his mother met a new friend who was often targeted by the police. Credibil's stepfather was shot twice in the street, among other things. Credibil spent most of his youth in the Frankfurt train station district .
In 2013 he published his German demo tape for free . This was followed by live appearances at Splash! In 2014 and 2015 . Festival . In cooperation with the music producer The Cratez , the EP Molokopf and the album Renæssance were released. The album Renæssance reached position 29 in the German album charts.
In particular, the topics that Credibil addresses are rather unusual for rappers his age. Often thoughtful, very difficult and always self-reflective texts run through Credibil's songs.
The connection to his hometown Frankfurt am Main is also a recurring motif. So z. B. in the songs: So nice ugly or compressed air .
Other rappers, such as Celo & Abdi, Azad or Moses Pelham, are very often compared to the similar rap style of Credibil.
Credibil's debut album Renæssance was “The Rap Album of the Year 2015” on iTunes. In addition to the live performances on the “Splash! Festivals "2015 and 2016 followed his first solo tour called:" Die Ærste Tour "in May 2016, during which he played in six German cities.
Credibil lives today in Frankfurt am Main . His youth in Frankfurt's Bahnhofsviertel had a formative influence both on him personally and on the figure of Credibil. The crime and the "tough" environment in which Credibil grew up are repeatedly discussed in his plays.
At the end of 2018 his second solo album Semikolon was released .
