Disarstar (born January 15, 1994 ; real name Gerrit Falius ) is a German rapper from Hamburg who is under contract with the Warner Music Group .
Career
Disarstar grew up and came into contact with rap in Hamburg. He made his first musical attempts at the age of eleven. At first he limited himself to writing lyrics, before going on to record them a little later. The recordings made at this time, which were mainly attributable to the street trap , brought him minor successes. However, alcohol and drug consumption as well as the first criminal offenses, which among other things resulted in a suspended sentence for dangerous bodily harm , stood in the rapper's way at the time. He was then assigned a social worker who stood by his side in reflecting on his previous life and helped him to find himself as a person and as a rapper. Both his character and rap style changed, allowing the former criminal to focus more on philosophy and social criticism.
This was reflected in Disarstar's music, which lyrically was now more of his "turning away from substance abuse and turning to the search for meaning". From 2010 to 2013 he published a number of mixtapes and EPs for free download. Eventually he became aware of the independent label Showdown Records , where he was signed in 2014. In the course of this, the free mixtape Manege was released as well as the EP thousand in one , which was his first commercial release. As a support act he accompanied Kontra K towards the end of the year on their loyalty tour, on which he played in front of a larger audience for the first time. In 2015, the Out of the Shadow into the Light tour followed, on which Disarstar also participated. On June 26, 2015, his debut album Kontraste was released , which entered the German album charts at number 19. To bridge the waiting time until his next studio album, he released another free mixtape in 2016, Sturm und Drang .
At the beginning of 2017 Disarstar switched from Showdown Records to the major label Warner Music Germany and shortly afterwards announced his second album Minus X Minus = Plus for March 31st. This reached number 16 in the German album charts. As part of the Minus X Minus = Plus Tour that followed , Disarstar appeared in front of its own audience for the first time. He then began work on his third album Bohemien , which was released on February 15, 2019. After that, the hamburger went quiet until he returned in December with the first single from his upcoming album Klassenkampf & Kitsch .

Others
Political orientation
Disarstar is regularly involved in the left-wing scene. This political orientation is often evident in his lyrics. For example, he frequently criticized excessive consumption, capitalism and gun lobbies, among other things. Furthermore, Disarstar's logo, a red star, also reflects his political orientation. He also wears this as a tattoo.
"I see myself as an anti-capitalist , anti-imperialist and anti-fascist ."
Naming
The name, which is made up of the two components This and Star , has for him the literal meaning of the two components, as well as the misspelling of Disaster .
