Lex Barkey

Lex Barkey is a German sound engineer and music producer from Berlin who specializes in mixing  and mastering of pop, hip-hop and electronic music.

Life

At the age of seven, Barkey took violin lessons and also learned to play the keyboard .

His career in the music industry began in 1997, then as a music producer and rapper , with his first own release being in the trance genre . He then worked for a while for Echte Musik , the label of the Frankfurt rapper Jonesmann . At that time, Barkey was mainly active as a producer, but was also increasingly used in the field of mixing and mastering. After Barkey received a lot of positive feedback on his mixes, he devoted himself more and more to this part of music from 2006 onwards. In 2006, Barkey released the R&B single Fick dich von Jonesmann, which he regards as a major milestone in his career.

Barkey is jointly responsible for two of the best-selling rap songs in Germany of all time. For example, he was responsible for the mastering of the 2016 song Ohne mein Team by Bonez MC and RAF Camora , while he mixed and mastered the 2017 Was du Liebe nennst by Bausa . For both songs he received a diamond record in Germany for more than one million sales, making both singles one of the best-selling singles on the German music market .
