Apache 207 (born October 23, 1997 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein ; bourgeois Volkan Yaman ) is a German rapper and singer with Turkish roots.

Life

Apache 207 was born in Ludwigshafen am Rhein and grew up in the Niederfeld district of Ludwigshafen's Gartenstadt district . In his youth he played soccer at Ludwigshafener SC and VfR Frankenthal . In 2017 he finished his education at the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Ludwigshafen with the general higher education entrance qualification ( Abitur ). According to his management, he then studied two semesters law in Mainz . Although Apache 207 was born and raised in Ludwigshafen, he describes himself as a Mannheim rapper in his song Unterwegs . Most of his music videos were shot in the sister city of Baden-Württemberg .

Career

The musician first attracted attention in June 2018 with the release of his debut single Kleine Hure , initially without label support. The publications Famous and Ferrari Testarossa followed . He received further attention from the Rewind video for NoNo published in October 2018 , which humorously shows a trip through Mannheim. Since 2019 he has been under contract with the TwoSides label , a joint venture of the Sony label Four Music with Lucas Teuchner and rapper Bausa . He achieved his breakthrough in the German mainstream with the neo-Schlager title Kein Problem in April 2019. Within just a few months, the song had more than 8 million views on YouTube . With the release of the song Bread Home , he made it into the official German charts for the first time in May 2019 .

The single Roller was released in August 2019 and immediately reached number two in the German single charts. The following week, the song even rose to number one and also reached number six in the Ö3 Austria Top 40 (Austrian single charts). For Apache this was the first top 10 position in its career. The EP record was released on October 25, 2019 and contains eight titles, including the releases Roller , 200 km / h and Why are you doing that to yourself? . With the latter he reached his second number one hit in the German single charts.

From November 2019 he accompanied Bausa as a supporting act on his Germany tour. In December 2019 he made appearances at the Red Bull Sound Clash and Modus Mio Live On Stage . On February 24, 2020, he published the single track Matrix during an appearance on the show Late Night Berlin and wore a t-shirt with the words Pray for Hanau .

The sold-out tour originally planned for 2020 could not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was postponed to 2021.

On July 31, 2020, his debut album staircase was released, which reached number 1 in the German charts.

Music genre

Apache's style is described as a combination of pop and street rap, which is also characterized by the alternation of singing and rap. The verses often have a driving, danceable music style that is reminiscent of house or eurodance . The hooks, on the other hand, are often poppy , and acoustic guitars are often heard over muffled beats. The street rap from the stanzas meets the cloud rap in the hook.
