What you call love is a song by the German rapper Bausa . It was released as a single on September 1, 2017 and is included on his mixtape Powerbausa .

Music video

The music video for Was du Liebe nennst was released on October 3, 2017. Directed by Adal Giorgis. The budget of the video was 40,000 euros and, according to Rap.de, is an homage to the music video Wyclef Jean by the American rapper Young Thug . Part of the video was shot on the Berlin-Pankow Golf Resort. The video had over 145.1 million views on YouTube on June 26, 2020.

Was du Liebe nennst went to number 51 in the German single charts on October 6, 2017. In the following week it reached number one and thus made the biggest jump to number one in chart history. It was able to stay at one continuously until December 1st, when Ed Sheeran replaced it with Perfect . In mid-February the song was able to reach one again after Bausa released his first mixtape Powerbausa . In total, it stayed at the top of the German single charts for nine weeks, making it the most frequently top German-language hip-hop song of all time. Was du Liebe nennst took third place in the 2018 annual charts in Germany. The single is the first German rap song to achieve diamond status with 1,000,000 units. With over 1.2 million sales, Was du Liebe is the most successful German-speaking rap single in German chart history. It is the second best-selling rap single and was able to achieve more than 1.3 million units worldwide.

Austria

What you call love rose to number 18 in the Austrian single charts in the 42nd calendar week . In the weeks that followed, it climbed to five and two before reaching the top of the singles chart on November 10th. The song was able to stay at the top of the charts with an interruption at Christmas 2017. It was a total of ten weeks on one.
