Odyssey 579 is the debut album by the Hamburg rapper Kalim . It was released on October 28, 2016 on the independent label Alles oder Nix Records from Bonn. Among other things, Xatar and SSIO are featured on the album with guest contributions.

On September 2, 2016, the track list and cover were published. The singles Yes, always. and mg were previously released on YouTube . All tracks except mg were produced by David Crates. The latter was produced by the Ghanaian Stallion.

The album received mostly positive reviews. This is the verdict of the hip-hop magazine Backspin :
“For his first album, Kalim and his producer choose a much more modern beat construct. [...] With his dark street stories from Hamburg, the AoN musician can meet the high expectations. "
The MZEE reviewer goes into more detail on the rapper's authenticity:
“Between his hard facade, he briefly flashes traces of humanity and vulnerability, but without negatively affecting the cold and dirty mood of his music. This is how Kalim's powerful sound succeeds in picking up the listener and taking them on a musical odyssey that will captivate you until the very end. "
The rap magazine Juice ultimately shares the positive assessment and writes:
“The great strength of Kalim's debut still remains its stringency - in times when influences from France and the southern states have made local street rap more melody-driven and hit-fixated than ever, almost an anachronism. Without party moments and auto-tune passages, »Odyssey 579« impresses with an urgency that is so far unique in German street rap in 2016. "
