James Blake (musician)
James Blake (born September 26, 1988 in Deptford , London ) is a British musician. As a singer-songwriter, he makes electronic pop music. In many of his works he uses dubstep stylistic devices . He is also known under the pseudonym Harmonimix and a founding member of the 1-800 Dinosaur music label .
Life
Blake is the son of British guitarist James Litherland and attended elementary school in Winchmore Hill , then attended The Latymer School in Edmonton . He studied popular music at Goldsmiths, University of London , he attended the courses together with singer Katy B visited. Blake has been in a relationship with Jameela Jamil since 2015 .

In July 2009 his first EP Air & Lack Thereof was released . In 2010 another three EPs appeared, with the song CMYK being released as the first single and being played on the BBC .
His debut album James Blake , released on R&S Records in February 2011 , received positive feedback. The NZZ called his live appearance in Zurich in April 2011 "trend-setting".
His second studio album Overgrown was released in April 2013.
His third studio album The Color in Anything was released in 2016. It is 76 minutes long, contains a duet with Bon Iver and was produced in part by Rick Rubin . It is "a wonderful, virtuoso composed and sung record with melodies that may not be apparent when you first listen, but after the second and third time they get stuck in your memory all the more", said Jens Balzer. He called it "a high mass of contemporary songwriting - and a work that is deeply touching and depressing in its hopeless narcissism."
