Andrea Sihler (* 1957 in Klagenfurt , Carinthia , Austria ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Sihler grew up in Düsseldorf . After graduating from high school, she studied theater and film studies in Vienna . Sihler also completed training in pantomime at the École de mime de Marcel Marceau in Paris . She also studied classical singing (pitch: mezzo-soprano ) in Munich ; later also jazz and chanson .

Sihler has played theater in Munich since the early 1980s , mainly in independent theater productions in the Munich theater scene, a. a. with appearances in the Alabama-Halle in Munich , in the Theaterhallen Dachauer Straße, in the Wamslerhallen in Munich and at the New Theater in Munich (1997–1999). From 1980 to 1999, together with the director Manfred Killer , she ran the Theater-Labor-München , an independent theater , for almost 20 years, which performs at unconventional theater locations (including the Intercity Hotel Munich, building pavilions in Schwabing , the flight tower at Munich-Riem Airport ) realized. She wrote stories without words (pantomimes) and picture stories for her own theater group. In 1991 she was awarded the " AZ star of the year" for her work as artistic director and actress at the Theater-Labor-München for the production Eine zuckersüße Fahrt ins Schwarze (in the flight tower in Riem) .

Since the beginning of the 1990s, Sihler has also regularly taken on film and television roles. The main focus of her film activity is television .

Sihler has been playing the role of sister Hildegard in the ARD series Um Himmels Willen without interruption since 2002 . She embodies the "good-natured and reliable" assistant to the Mother Superior ( Rosel Zech / Gaby Dohm / Nina Hoger ) in the series. This role also made Sihler known to a larger audience. Sihler also took on the role of sister Hildegard in the four 90-minute Christmas specials of the series: For Heaven's Sake - Christmas in Kaltenthal (2008), For Heaven's Sake - Christmas Under Palms (2010), For Heaven's Sake - Mission Impossible (2012 ) and For God's Sake - The Miracle of Fatima (2014).

Sihler's other roles were the canteen manager Anna Becker in Samt und Silk (2003-2004), the councilor Marianne Pflüger in Two Doctors Are One Too Many (2006-2008) as well as the domestic servant and “marriage counselor” Miss Constanze in the TV series Die Rebel (2008).

She also had episode roles in the television series Adelheid and their murderers (2003; as speed dating presenter Ms. Alsfeld), SOKO Wismar (2004; as Kirsten Schmock, co-owner of an agricultural machinery company and mother of the 16-year-old victim Leon), The Rosenheim Cops (2008; as cloakroom attendant Helene Zöckel), Notruf Hafenkante (2011; as Ingrid Krause, daughter of the 80-year-old pensioner Ms. Krause, whose family jewelry was stolen), Der Bergdoktor (2013; as school director Ms. Seifert) and Mord mit Aussicht (2014; as Mrs. Schwarz). In January 2017 Sihler was seen in an episode role in the new ARD television series WaPo Bodensee ; she played the school principal Frau Schubert.

In 2007/08 Sihler graduated from the Hamburg School of Authors . During this time, she wrote her script Nothing is full of cool , a musical coming-of-age story.

Sihler lives in Munich with her husband and four daughters .
