For heaven's sake - Christmas under palm trees is a German television film by Ulrich König and, after Christmas in Kaltenthal, the second Christmas special in the television series For Heaven's Will . It was first broadcast on December 25, 2010 on Das Erste . The film was shot on board the cruise ship MSC Fantasia .
action
Wolfgang Wöller, Lord Mayor of the fictional Lower Bavarian town of Kaltenthal, wants to escape the Christmas hustle and bustle and books a Mediterranean cruise. But hardly on board, he would like to turn back immediately: With the sisters Hanna, Agnes and Felicitas, three of the nuns of the Kaltenthal monastery are also on the ship. They got the trip as a gift and now want to collect money for a family of five in need who had to leave their home due to high rent debts. They meet Felix, the son of the ship owner Max Brockmann. The little boy lost his mother in a car accident and made friends with Ursula Henning, who worked on board. His father doesn't seem to like this, so that his butler Roland dismisses them without consulting them. When Felix sees her disembark in Tenerife , he wants to run after her. Sister Hanna can just stop him and is now trying to find a solution to the difficult situation. Meanwhile, Wöller has met Isabella Kagel, also from Kaltenthal, whom he would like to marry while on board. But this practically leaves him standing in front of the altar. Wöller did not recognize in her the woman whom he treated rather badly when he was looking for a bride at the time. At the time, Isabella weighed almost 30 kilograms more, which prompted Wöller to flash her with little sensitivity, which he only recognizes when he is back home, based on a photo that his secretary obtained. On a sideline, Wöller unmasked a fraudster who wanted to cheat the shipowner out of a huge sum. Finally, the three nuns fly with the mayor in Brockmann's own plane back to Munich for the big Christmas party in the monastery, with enough money in their luggage in the ship's casino to relieve the Kaltenthal family completely.
criticism
“A nice special spook on the high seas, which undoubtedly culminates in Wepper's transformation into a nun. But the clever script and the illustrious location make a big contribution to the fact that the series fan will reliably receive his heart-warming TV Christmas present. "
“Even if the special follows tried and tested patterns - clever dialogues, a lot of feeling and the protagonists ensure heavenly pleasure. [...] Fleet 'dream ship' variant of the hit series. "
"Droll, dignified entertainment without edges."
