Ulrich König (* 1949 in Munich ) is a German screenwriter and director .

Life

Ulrich König was born in 1949 as the son of the writer and later film director Hans H. König . Born in Munich, he worked his way up from assistant to production manager to assistant director from 1969 until he got his first chance as a director at Saarland broadcasting in 1974 . As director of the BR youth magazine Szene , he was responsible for Thomas Gottschalk's first TV appearance in front of an audience. Ulrich König made his breakthrough as director and co-author of the TV series Meister Eder und seine Pumuckl . In 1984 he invented the character Hatschipuh . In addition to numerous television comedies, he led a. a. even with 20 episodes of the comedy - television series Office, Office and more than 80 episodes for heaven's sake Director. King's daughter Daniela is an actress.

His brother Manfred works as a restorer.
