action

In velvet and silk it is about the company Friedrich Althofer Textilwerke , an Augsburg textile company with financial difficulties because it has missed the connection with new times. The company is to be liquidated. For this purpose, the Frankfurt graduate economist Florian Unger ( Michael von Au ) is supported by the lenders, whose representatives are Dr. Dieter Lausitz ( Andreas Wimberger ) has been sent to Augsburg to get an idea on site. The company is owned by the senior boss Wilhelm Althofer ( Charles Brauer ), his divorced wife Hedda Offenbach ( Diana Körner ) and their children together with Hedda, Roland Althofer ( Marcus Mittermeier ), Felix Althofer ( Stephan Ullrich ) and Cornelia Althofer ( Elisabeth Lanz ) .

The young fashion designer Lena Czerni ( Christina Rainer ) has her first day at work on the same day as Florian Unger . She is a illegitimate daughter of the company founder Wilhelm Althofer. Together with Florian Unger, Wilhelm Althofer and Cornelia Althofer, they finally manage to save the company from bankruptcy. Cornelia and Florian finally get married, although Florian is also in love with Lena.

Wilhelm Althofer finally retires from the company and rediscovers his love for Rosa Czerni ( Mona Seefried ). After a short time, Rosa is diagnosed with cancer, whereupon she takes her own life. Florian Unger is killed in a car accident at the end of the first season. After his death, his long-time secretary Waltraud Michel ( Katerina Jacob ) comes to Augsburg to clarify the death of Florian.

Lena Czerni finally founds the subsidiary Fashion Factory in the second season, while the parent company continues to have financial problems. Waltraud Michel will be your assistant. A new man also enters her life, the photographer Chris Gellert. In addition, she also takes custody of little Florian after her half-sister Cornelia and her second husband Andreas Straubinger ( Jens Schäfer ) are killed in a plane crash. And the relationship with Chris, after Chris returned from Tibet, is not a good star either. In particular, the older half-brother Roland Althofer tries to hinder Lena's successes. His marriage to Birgit Meyerbeer ( Kathrin Spielvogel ) fails. He finally marries the stripper Silke Richter ( Mareike Fell ). The Althofer company is meanwhile managed by Dr. Wilfried Holzknecht ( László I. Kish ) as commercial director. This was used by August Meyerbeer ( Hans Korte ), who increased his influence in the company by marrying Hedda ( Diana Körner ). Lena and Birgit's friendship suffers a deep rift when Birgit falls in love with Lena.

In the fourth season, Roland, who broke up with Silke, and Birgit get back together. But there is no remarriage. Lena falls in love with the banker Römer ( Siemen Rühaak ) and leaves the company. The chief designer Daniel Kruse ( Martin Armknecht ) is now mainly taking care of this, but this is overwhelming.

In the fifth season, Stefan Gronewoldt ( Tim Williams ) from South Africa takes over the majority of the shares in Althofer, which is now called ACF. He prevents a hostile takeover by his sister Katharina van der Looh ( Karin Giegerich ) and falls in love with Lena, whom he eventually marries.
