Hartmut Schreier

Gert-Hartmut Schreier (born October 11, 1952 in Schwerin ) is a German actor .

Life

Hartmut Schreier studied at the State Drama School (Fachschule) in Berlin (from which the Academy of Dramatic Art "Ernst Busch" Berlin emerged in 1981 ) and graduated in 1974. Shortly afterwards he received an engagement at the State Theater in his native Schwerin, which he did in 1982 left to work at the Volksbühne Berlin . Here he played as a member of the ensemble until 1991, since then he has worked as a freelance actor. In Schwerin he also worked as an unofficial employee "Jürgen Schwarz" for the Ministry for State Security . There he observed colleagues and employees and delivered reports to his command officer Oberleutnant Lindemann. As a thank you, Schreier was allowed to visit his father, who worked in the diplomatic service in Switzerland, at Christmas 1978. He got a passport and was provided with plenty of travel money (in Eastern and Western currencies), including a small contact order.

He played one of his most important leading roles in the film adaptation of The Mexican Felipe Rivera based on the novel by Jack London , directed by Edgar Kaufmann . In Theater of the West Schreier also had another successful and regular work or performances.

In the GDR Schreier worked in several roles for the television of the GDR and thus played in the series Polizeiruf 110 and The Public Prosecutor Has the Word .

From 1992 to 2010 Schreier played the role of Detective Inspector Manfred “Manne” Brand in the ZDF series SOKO 5113 . As a result of March 1, 2010 he died a serial death. Schreier wanted to continue playing his role and was disappointed with the decision by ZDF, which, according to a press release , wanted to keep up with the times with the separation .
