Ball of Lonely Hearts is a German crime film by Helmut Krätzig from 1990. The television film was released as the 140th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 .

action

Klaus-Peter Kern has a hit with women and uses it for his criminal machinations. Together with his accomplice Jürgen Honz, they go into action at dance events. While Honz stays in the background, Kern steals the lonely lady's apartment keys in order to pass them on to his partner unnoticed. He then drives to the apartments to steal money and valuables. Then the keys find their way back into the handbags. After several successful attempts, Honz is caught in Mrs. Storch's apartment by her daughter. The daughter suffers serious injuries during a fight with Honz. The criminal police begin their work and are soon on the trail of the perpetrators, as the two perpetrators leave too many traces. So they break into health clinics several times in order to provide relief for Klaus-Peter Kern, who has a sick back, with mud packs and water treatments. In the meantime they find shelter with Elvira Barthel. During another break-in, Jürgen Honz is shocked when he finds himself in a snake cage.
