Stephan Ullrich (born August 31, 1960 in Solingen ) is a German actor .

life and career

Stephan Ullrich completed an acting training at the New Munich Drama School from 1983 to 1986 . He then played theater at the Schauspielhaus Bochum , the Schloßtheater Moers , the Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf , the Stadttheater Aachen and, since 2007, at the Schauspielhaus Essen . In 2008 he took over the role of Tilo in the world premiere of the new play Wir sind immer oben by Dirk Laucke at the Essen Theater . At the Bad Vilbel Castle Festival in 2009 he played the tour in the comedy Flea in the Ear by Georges Feydeau . He has also been a regular at the Bad Hersfeld Festival since 2011 . In 2013 he appeared there as Caliban in Shakespeare's late work The Tempest and as Templar in Nathan the Wise , in 2014 as Count of Leicester in Maria Stuart .

In the 2012/13 season he appeared at the Schauspielhaus Bochum as Jason in Medea . In 2011 he played Christian Buddenbrook in a stage version of the novel Buddenbrooks at the Prinzregenttheater in Bochum ; There followed in 2013 Serge in Art by Yasmina Reza . He has been part of the ETA Hoffmann Theater in Bamberg since the 2017/18 season. At the opening of the season he appeared in Engel in Amerika (director: Sibylle Broll-Pape) as Roy Cohn . He also played in Am Königsweg by Elfriede Jelinek , directed by Daniel Kunze and in the world premiere of Brand by Bettina Erasmy , directed by Cilli Drexel . From March 2018 he took on the role of father Maximilian von Moor in Schiller's early work The Robbers . In 2019 he played King Claudius in Shakespeares' Hamlet (director: Sebastian Schug ), then Julius in Die Zeit and the room by Botho Strauss , directed by Sibylle Broll-Pape. In the opening premiere of the 2019/20 season, he took on the title role in Faust1in2 by Goethe at the ETA-Hoffmann-Theater Bamberg (director: Sibylle Broll-Pape).
