The Prinzregenttheater in Bochum is a production and performance location in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The free theater is continuously funded by the city of Bochum and the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. For several years now, the focus of the Prinzregenttheater has been on staging contemporary spoken and music theater . The artistic director from 1995 to 2015 was Sibylle Broll-Pape , who co-founded the theater in 1991. From the 2015/16 season to 2018, the theater was directed by Romy Schmidt . The Prinzregenttheater produces around six of its own productions per season and is a regular venue for the Fidena festival ( puppet theater of the nations). The theater has 100 seats.

The theater is run by the Theaterverein Prinz Regent e. V. Its board of directors currently consists of Hans H. Hanke and Susanne Muthig-Beilmann.
