Andreas Wimberger
Andreas Wimberger (born May 13, 1959 in Salzburg ; † September 11, 2019 ) was an Austrian actor and radio play speaker .
Life
Andreas Wimberger, son of an actress and the composer Gerhard Wimberger , studied after graduating from high school from 1978 to 1980 at the Mozarteum in his hometown, after completing twelve years of training as a pianist there. A first commitment was given Wimberger at the City Theater Basel , where he, among other roles to Andri in Andorra by Max Frisch , and in the Schiller dramas Maria Stuart the Mortimer and Love and Intrigue to Ferdinand played. In Georg Büchner's comedy Leonce and Lena , he not only embodied the role of Leonce, but also composed the music for this production. On the occasion of a guest performance with the play Der Bockerer at the Munich Volkstheater , Frank Baumbauer signed Wimberger to the Bavarian State Theater , of which he was a member from 1985 to 1998. Further stations in his stage career were the Luisenburg Festival in Wunsiedel, the Fritz-Rémond-Theater in Frankfurt and the Theater in der Josefstadt .
In addition, Wimberger made repeated guest appearances at the Bad Hersfeld Festival , where he received several awards for his achievements. As Leon in Grillparzer's comedy Woe to him who lies! and as Benedict in Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare , he received the Hersfeld Prize in 1991 and 1999, respectively . In 1993, his portrayal of Scapin in Molière's Scapins Pranks was honored with the Great Hersfeld Prize . In 1988 he had already been awarded the Friends of the Residence Theater Prize for the Lord Templar in Lessing's Nathan the Wise .
From the beginning of the 1980s, Andreas Wimberger was also repeatedly in front of the camera. You could see him in films such as Der Schüler Gerber , Quintett Complete or A Risky Game , and he also had guest appearances in well-known series such as Der Bulle von Tölz , Die Rosenheim-Cops , Hubert and Staller and SOKO 5113 . From 2010 he took on a continuous role in the ARD television series Um Himmels Willen , in which he played Frank Treptow , the cultural advisor for the city of Kaltenthal and subordinate of Fritz Wepper's mayor.
Wimberger also worked as a radio broadcaster and participated in numerous productions by German radio stations and the ORF .
Andreas Wimberger lived with his wife, TV presenter Antje Pieper , and his son in Munich.
Wimberger died on September 11, 2019 at the age of 60.
