Antje Maren Pieper (born January 30, 1969 in Landsberg am Lech , Bavaria ) is a German television presenter , editor and reporter .

Life

Pieper gained his first journalistic experience during her school days in 1984 at Bayerischer Rundfunk . After graduating from the Maximiliansgymnasium in Munich , she worked in Italy from 1989 to 1990, where she ran the music program Hotline as a freelancer at SuperChannel . Further stations were the moderation of the festival Rock over Europe in May 1989 in Amsterdam and from January 1991 to June 1994 she moderated the children's program Disney Club in the First together with Stefan Pinnow .

In 1994 Pieper came to ZDF and initially presented the children's program Ferienfieber and the children's news program logo! , for which she also carried out several reports. Then she presented the youth series smello from April 1995 to 1996 together with Gregor Steinbrenner and from May 1995 the afternoon program of the ZDF the fortnightly magazine Sport-Szene . In 1998 Pieper completed her studies in political science , history of Eastern and Southeastern Europe and literary studies in Munich . After moderating the program Länderspiegel from 2000 to 2005, she was the director of the ZDF studio in Rome until June 2014 . The studio is responsible for reporting from Italy , San Marino and the Vatican State as well as from Malta and Greece . In addition, Pieper hosted life & style Rom magazine on ZDFinfo from September 2011 . On July 1, 2014, she returned to the ZDF broadcasting center in Mainz , where she has been the deputy head of the main editorial department for “Politics and Current Affairs” and has since moderated the international journal as the successor to Theo Koll . As a result, she also presents the Politbarometer on a representative basis .

Private

Pieper is widowed and has a son born in 2004. Her husband was the actor Andreas Wimberger, who died on September 11, 2019 .
