The widowed judge Berthold Sanwaldt lives with his three daughters, Anna , Sylvie and baby Patty , in a Munich villa. After the wedding of Berthold's sister-in-law Mathilde, Margot , who has just been released from prison, applies to work as housekeeper. She spent 15 years in prison for double homicides, but protests her innocence. You are the only one who believes Berthold, who was an assessor at the hearing at the time. The two fall in love and get married at the end of season 1.

- From 1994 to 1999, six seasons of 12–13 episodes each were filmed in and around Munich . It was first broadcast in three blocks between November 1995 and July 2001.
- The role of Patricia Sanwaldt was initially played together by the twins Floriane and Fritzi Eichhorn . From the 5th season (production started in May 1998) Fritzi took on the role alone.
- In the pilot film, Berthold meets his old friend Vinzenz ( Walter Buschhoff ) in town. This is one of the main characters at the time in the series Forsthaus Falkenau , in which Jutta Speidel played until episode 77 (broadcast one week before the pilot film).
- Katerina Jacob marries in the series Holger Schwiers , who is her uncle in real life.
- Hans Stetter and Monika Lundi played in the series Roman Rottmann and Ingrid and are married in real life.
