Germain Wagner

Germain Wagner (born December 1, 1956 in Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourg actor with a German-Luxembourg-French career.

Life

Germain Wagner grew up in Luxembourg and began studying acting in 1976 at the State University for Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart under the direction of Prof. Dr. Felix Müller.

After completing his studies in 1979, permanent engagements followed at various stages. These include Theater Ulm , Theater am Neumarkt Zurich , Theater Freiburg , State Theater Hanover , Theater Oberhausen , Schauspielhaus Zurich and the Residenztheater Munich . During this time he worked under the direction of Andrea Breth , Matthias Fontheim , Matthias Hartmann , Amélie Niermeyer , Klaus Weise , Anselm Weber , Frank Hoffmann , Sabine Mitterecker , Johan Leysen , Stefan Maurer, among others .

Wagner has been working as a freelance actor since 2001. He works at various houses, including a. the Theater Bonn , Théâtre National de Nice, Théâtre du Rond-Point Paris, Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall , Théâtre National du Luxembourg, Théatres de la Ville de Luxembourg, Theater Eigenreich Berlin , Théâtre d'Esch, Schauspielhaus Wien and the Kasemattentheater Luxemburg, where he was artistic director from 2007 to 2015.

Since the early 1990s he has appeared in international film and television productions alongside his theater engagements. His best-known productions include Volker Schlöndorff's The Ninth Day , La traque by Laurent Jaoui, Hannah Arendt by Margarethe von Trotta as well as the series Alle Meine Töchter und Sternenfänger . In addition, he played leading episode roles in Schlosshotel Orth , cheerful to deadly: fox and goose , for heaven's sake and much more

In addition, Wagner played a leading role in the first Luxembourg sitcom Weemseesdet .
