The name of a broadcast format of the German television station Das Erste , under which twelve different early evening crime series were broadcast under one umbrella brand from October 25, 2011 to 2015, was cheerful to fatal .

background

The series was inspired by the longstanding success of the metropolitan area . Initially, further big city offshoots of the series were planned, but in the end ARD did not want to limit itself to big cities, but also to include rural locations for regionally colored crime series with humorous aspects. Before defining the title Heiter bis tödlich , Das Erste used the term Schmunzelkrimis and the working title Crime & Smile in press releases .

The series were initially broadcast on Tuesday through Thursday and from 2015 on Tuesday through Wednesday at 6:50 p.m. in the evening program.

As of 2016, the label Heiter bis tödlich was no longer used, with the series concerned continuing to run without the label from now on.
