characters
Emily Gans : Emily Gans only wanted to make a short detour to Bad Urach to sell the house inherited from her aunt. There she met the former chief detective, Urban Fuchs, who here has tenancy rights for life and cannot be evicted. After she found out that her desired position at Frankfurter Aktuellen would not be set up for her after all, she met Mr. Wenz. He hires her for his newspaper. Since then, Emily has been investigating every major or minor case in Bad Urach. At first she doesn't get along with her subtenant Urban Fuchs, but over time their relationship improves, but neither of them really wants to admit that.
Urban Fuchs : The former chief inspector lives with Emily Gans in her late aunt's house. There he has a tenancy right for life. He talks to his animals and can apparently understand them. As a result, he was forced to retire from active police service. He runs a market stall. At first he is not very satisfied with Emily Gans' move into the house, later a secret friendship begins between the two of them and Urban Fuchs repeatedly helps Emily with her investigations.
Siegfried Wenz : Wenz is publisher and editor-in-chief of "Uracher Boten" and Emily Gans' boss. He has a tendency to make sensational headlines. Before Emily got to his paper, however, he had limited himself to doing clichéd small-town journalism. As soon as he realizes that Emily is right about her suspicion that another crime has happened, he senses a big story that he wants to blow up as best he can.
Stefan Fuchs : Stefan Fuchs is the son of Urban Fuchs and a detective at the local police. He trusts the views of Emily Gans and those of his father. He often includes them in his investigations. He has a lot of respect for his boss Evelyn Ackermann, but still defies her orders again and again. He fell in love with Emily Gans from the start, which often brings him into difficult situations.
Evelyn Ackermann : She is the local detective and former superior of Stefan Fuchs. She is firmly against letting the "civilians" Urban Fuchs and Emily Gans participate in the respective investigations. At her urging, Urban Fuchs resigned from active service. From this and from a failed love relationship, a certain mutual aversion arose between Ackermann and Urban Fuchs.
Eberhard "Ebsi" Eisele : Eisele is the operator of the local hairdressing salon and is always informed about current events in the city thanks to his curious and talkative manner. He is one of Urban Fuchs' few friends and quickly becomes friends with Emily Gans. "Ebsi" is homosexual and keeps talking about past, failed love relationships.
Sibylle Latzel : Sibylle Latzel is the secretary of the "Uracher Boten". During her working hours, she keeps busy with her hobbies and interests, such as crocheting or yoga. She has a very good relationship with her boss Siegfried Wenz and Emily Gans. Emily also helps her out again and again with information about Bad Urach and its residents when they are investigating a case again.
