Delta Cafés is a Portuguese brand and company specializing in coffee roasting and marketing, part of the Nabeiro group. Delta Cafés is the leader in the domestic market and exports to more than two dozen countries.

history

Manuel Rui Azinhais Nabeiro founded the company in 1961 in Campo Maior , in the Alentejo . In 1984 it became a public company.

Today, under the umbrella of the NabeiroGest SGPS, SA holding company, there are a total of 24 companies in the Delta group of companies, including the NovaDelta companies in Angola , Brazil , France , Luxembourg and Spain , and companies in the real estate, agriculture, parasols, hotels and catering sectors.

In 2011, Delta Cafés appeared at number 165 on the joint list of the newspapers Jornal de Notícias and Diário de Notícias , on which the editors listed their 1,000 personal reasons for national pride.

Nova Delta Coffee Museum

An extensive coffee museum has been set up at the company's headquarters in Campo Maior, the "Nova Delta Coffee Museum". It opened in 1994 and is considered one of the few, possibly the first and for a long time the only coffee museum in Europe. It is dedicated to the history of coffee growing, coffee preparation and its enjoyment over the centuries, with an emphasis on roasting. There are also a number of thematic sculptures on the site.

The Nova Delta Coffee Museum is part of the European Route of Industrial Heritage .
