content

The policewoman Julia Klug, a single mother and heavily in debt, is withdrawing from her glamorous career as a policewoman. Overqualified, she returns to her hometown of Berlin and begins her work in the fraud department of Police Directorate 7 at Spittelmarkt in Berlin-Mitte , where her entire family works with Chief Inspector Jürgen Klug, Chief Inspector Marianne Klug and Police Master Patrick Klug. There is tension between Julia and her superior Johannes Sonntag. She works spirited and committed, he prefers work at the desk and research. With the career-fixated police advisor Nadja Bock, another closely drawn figure is added. The different characters meet regularly. Constant themes are also the reasons for Julia Klug's withdrawal and her role in the clichéd civil servant world.

characters

Julia Klug
(played by Friederike Kempter ) is a police officer and very impulsive at work. She sometimes works with very unorthodox methods and is very different from her colleague Johannes Sonntag. When she moves to Berlin, she is the single mother of her daughter Ellie and has to live with her parents again. It creates a stir at first, both at home and at work. But at some point she decides to want to stand on her own two feet again and looks for her own apartment. Now the only thing missing is the right man ...
Johannes Sunday
(played by Matthias Klimsa ) is a police officer and an officer straight out of a picture book. In any case, he adheres to the laws and police guidelines and does not appreciate the methods of his new colleague at all. When this is then also promoted, he thinks it is too early and feels passed over by his boss.
Jürgen Klug
(played by Torsten Michaelis ) is the head of the police station and very satisfied with his job. Well-planned processes are very important to him and everything must always go its way. When his daughter moves in with him, there are more and more conflicts because he is the boss at home and his daughter at work. But when she moves out of home and looks for an apartment of her own, he is suddenly taken by surprise by the events.
Marianne Klug
(played by Kirsten Block ) is chief commissioner and works under her husband on the guard. She feels underchallenged in her job and is striving for further training, with her boss very much supporting her. Your husband doesn't like it at all.
Karla
(played by Hannes Wegener ) runs the snack bar in front of the police station. No problem remains hidden from her and she always has good advice on hand. Since Julia has been living in the same house with her, the two have been seeing each other more and more often.
Patrick Klug
(played by Oliver Bender ) is a patrol officer and Julia's younger brother. He has an open manner, but is sometimes a bit scheduled. His new partner is a big challenge at first, and not just professionally.
Nadja Bock
(played by Floriane Daniel ) is the head of the police department. She has a more modern management style and is a modern boss. She has a refreshing manner, but her humor sometimes overwhelms her colleagues.

criticism

Cheerful to deadly: the capital district tended to receive mostly negative reviews. While the focus “wit and tempo” is convincing, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) criticizes the “script that adheres to clichés”; the dialogues created a “wooden ambience”. Friederike Kempter alone occasionally manages to embody her role authentically, while the rest of the actors overextend themselves to artificiality. Other critics see the clichés as a parody of the German criminal landscape. The first season was seen by an average of 1.3 million viewers (market share 6.3%).
