Thomas Klemm

Thomas Klemm (born September 21, 1961 ) is a German musician , composer and music producer .

Live and act

Klemm studied saxophone, flute and piano at the Cottbus Conservatory from 1968 to 1978 . From 1980 he completed his studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin (until 1984). As a jazz musician ( tenor saxophone , flute ), he was already a member of the Fusion group during his studies and switched to Axel Donner's band in 1984 . In 1986 he formed his own band, College . In the same year he founded the jazz wind quartet Fun Horns with Volker Schlott , Jörg Huke and Joachim Hesse , with which he was internationally successful. They undertook tours of the Goethe Institute through Africa, South America, Europe, Asia and the USA. He left the group in 1998. In the jazz area, he continued to be involved in recordings with Pascal von Wroblewsky , Cecil Taylor and Gebhard Ullmann . He was also involved in several JAKO-O albums .

Klemm worked as a lecturer at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin from 1994 to 1997 and was on study trips to the USA, Brazil and Great Britain. He has been a composer and producer for years. This led to collaboration with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra , the Babelsberg Film Orchestra , the RIAS Big Band Berlin , the orchestra of the Friedrichstadtpalast Berlin and Mecklenburg Chamber Soloists (North German Philharmonic).

Klemm composed the music for over 300 film and television productions and produced more than 20 CDs for children. He is a member of the German Composers' Association and GEMA .

Klemm is married to the cellist Astrid Klemm and lives with her in Berlin ( Prenzlauer Berg ) and in the Uckermark . He has four children. His brothers are the singer and guitarist Hansi Klemm and the conductor Detlef Klemm.
