action

Fe Wilke is a successful model booker who - bowing to the pressures of her career - prefers to look after her protégés in her free time rather than husband Mark. Shortly before the start of her honeymoon to catch up on, Fe recruits the unstable and naive model Mira for a campaign, who tries to find her way back into her private life and professional life through self-therapy after an unhappy relationship breakdown and subsequent breakdown. When the day of departure coincides with test shoots for Mira, Fe is forced to cancel the trip with Mark. However, he gives her an ultimatum: If Fe does not want to come with him, he would file for divorce. It is only with Mira's help that Fe finally succeeds in realizing what is really important to her.

Karo Richter is a housewife whose everyday life is determined by her husband Tom and their three children. However, the condition in the marital bedroom is increasingly disturbing the family idyll: Tom denies her physical affection. Karo sublimates the lack of sex with work in the house and garden. It is only when she unexpectedly sees Tom visiting a city apartment one lunchtime that Karo sees the real reason for Tom's refusal: he is having an affair and is already arranging to move out. Angry, Karo plans to forestall Tom's plans and unceremoniously appoints a realtor for their joint house in the country. But when Tom finds out, she realizes that she was wrong about her husband once more.

Karo's closest confidante Frieda runs a neighborhood café and is a staunch single. In contrast to her friend, she spends her evenings in Berlin's trendy clubs and strange beds. She does not allow feelings out of sheer fear of commitment - although there is no shortage of offers. The fun-loving Charlie Fiedler is the single mother of a three-year-old girl. As a perpetual intern, she finds herself caught between her own dreams of a promising career and the lack of financial means to raise her daughter. When she received another internship after an interview with a real estate agent, she sensed her great opportunity: if she managed to find a new place to stay for model Mira, then she could hope for a permanent position. This makes the breakthrough anything but easy for Charlie.

Hairdresser Mandy in turn longs for her dream prince. While one acquaintance after another falls into the lap of her colleague, Mandy has only pink daydreams of a happy marriage. Mandy sees the decisive obstacles in her plump figure and the lack of acceptance by others. When she meets the charming young blind man Fritz in Frieda's café one afternoon, she thinks she has finally found the man for life. However, Fritz does not show up for their planned appointment.

Reviews

“Sat.1 shows the answer to men's hearts : Five women and their stories are foamed into a cuddly film, in which comedy-watchers immediately suspect what's coming [...] Like the role model, women's hearts also play different storylines. People who don't actually know each other meander around each other, fall over each other's feet and influence the lives of others [...] On the way there, the viewer has to survive a few clichés and stupidities [...] The above-average soundtrack is remarkable The Libertines , Kings of Convenience , Radiohead , Badly Drawn Boy and Nouvelle Vague - if not the plot, at least this selection should make aged girls sigh sentimentally. "

“By alluding to men's hearts , Sat.1 did this film no favor. Even if the production company in both cases is the same: from the liveliness of the hit films, the quality of his dialogues and the sense of situation comedy is a woman's heart but then a good distance away. And with all due respect to Valerie Niehaus , Nadeshda Brennicke and Anna Fischer : Til Schweiger , Christian Ulmen and Wotan Wilke Möhring play in a completely different league. Nevertheless, the romantic Sat-1 drama is worth seeing, especially since the script offers a certain depth despite half a dozen narrative strands. "

“Successful charm offensive, we love to watch [...] The insights into the everyday lives of (not so) different women are wonderfully carefree interwoven. The hearts of women do not beat as booming and funny as the hearts of men , but they are just as much fun. "

“Anyone who hopes to gain insights into the role models and life ideas of modern women, from suburban mothers to career chicks, is likely to be a little disappointed: the visually lacquered love dance remains on the surface and cannot draw much joke from the interweaving of different fates. The many clichés, such as that of the corpulent hairdresser Mandy, who tries to fill the emptiness in her life with chocolates, or the arrogant career woman Fe, who lets her honeymoon slip out of sheer ambition, are an indictment for the team around director Sophie Allet- Coche. "

“Five fates in 90 minutes. Experience shows that there is little time to go into depth. And some of the stories are quite predictable even after a short time. But neither is bad with this film, which never pretends to want to be more than pure entertainment. Especially since almost all roles are ideally cast and give you the feeling that you have a woman like that yourself. At least one that is something like that. Sometimes, however, the director Sophie Allet-Coche dug a little too deep into the cliché box. In return, she completely dispenses with any kind of voyeurism and all too clumsy gags or slapstick interludes - not a matter of course with other Sat.1 comedies. And kudos to those responsible for providing the musical entertainment for this hour and a half. It has been a long time since you heard such a good and appropriate soundtrack in a TV film. "

success

When it was first broadcast on January 14, 2014, 3.03 million television viewers aged three and over tuned in, resulting in an above-average viewing participation of 9.9 percent.

Continuation as a television series

The television film has been broadcast as a series on the pay TV channel Sat.1 emotions since September 10, 2015 . After the free TV broadcast of the first episode on September 15, 2015 on Sat.1, the broadcast was stopped there due to the poor audience rating. On October 15, 2015, Sat.1 emotions broadcast the season finale.
