Matthias Weidenhöfer

Matthias Weidenhöfer (born April 16, 1985 in Achim ) is a German theater and film actor and voice actor .

Life

Matthias Weidenhöfer grew up with his two siblings in Achim near Bremen . His mother comes from Uruguay , the father from the Ottersberg district of Wümmingen. At the age of fourteen he produced his first television program for the open channel Bremen Umland TV.

From 2007 to 2010 he completed an acting course at the University of Film and Television Potsdam . During his training there he played the title role in Ivanov (2007, director: Gustav Rueb ), Stanley Kowalski in Endstation Sehnsucht (2007, director: Andreas Kleinert ), Petrucchio in The Taming of the Shrew (2008, director: Thomas Dehler), the Marinelli in Emilia Galotti (2008, director: Angelika Heimlich) and in 2009 Baylor in Lügengespinst by Sam Shepard (director: Lukas Langhoff ); With this production, Weidenhöfer made a guest appearance with the ensemble of the University of Film and Television at the Theatertreffen German-speaking drama students in Zurich . Weidenhöfer received, together with all other contributors, the ensemble award for overall acting.

In 2009 he realized the theater evening About me and how we learned to build the bomb with the director Kai Gero Lenke in the Sophiensaele in Berlin . In the 2010/11 season he was a guest at the Schauspielhaus Zürich . Directed by Karin Henkel , he played Borachio in the Shakespeare comedy Much Ado About Nothing .

In 2009, Weidenhöfer played the main male role in the movie Illness of Youth , a modern film adaptation of the play of the same name by Ferdinand Bruckner , directed by Dieter Berner . In the role of Freder, he embodied the "arrogant" and "charismatic" boss of a Berlin flat-sharing community of medical students who enjoys playing with the feelings of his roommates. The film premiered in October 2010 at the Hof Film Festival. In December 2010, the film was broadcast on television for the first time on ARTE .

Weidenhöfer also took on television roles. In 2006 he played the young doctor Dr. Loof in the Tatort crime thriller Die Anwältin, which first aired in April 2007 . In 2010 he was part of the cast of the Wilsberg crime novel Wilsberg in the role of Kevin Erdel : For lack of evidence . In the Tatort film Brothers (first broadcast: February 2014) he played the role of the loner Mesut Sönmez, the best friend and blood brother of the patrolman David Förster, alongside Christoph Letkowski . Weidenhöfer played Chief Inspector Cem Deniz in the pilot film Mantrailer - Traces of Crime, produced by RTL (broadcast: April 25, 2013). However, the series pilot flopped and was not continued.

Weidenhöfer has also been working regularly as a speaker for radio plays since 2008 . In 2010 he also worked as Freder in the radio play version of the production disease of the youth produced by Deutschlandradio , which was first broadcast on Deutschlandradio Kultur in March 2010 . He also worked as a voice actor.

He was a singer in various music projects, including in the band Destitude Allstars , in which he appeared as a singer and guitarist .

In autumn 2015 he caused a sensation with a Facebook post against racism that was published under the hashtag #nippelstatthetze and showed him with the model Leila Lowfire with bare breasts and a sign saying "Do not buy from Kanaken".

Weidenhöfer has two sons with the German actress Jördis Triebel . The couple split in 2014. Weidenhöfer was then in a relationship with the German-Brazilian actress Cristina do Rego , whom he met while filming the TV series Unter Gaunern (2015).
