Acting school meeting

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The national competition for German-speaking drama students - also drama school meetings in general usage - has been held every year since 1990 at the location of one of the participating drama training institutes. It is financed by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and organized and hosted by the European Theater Academy GmbH "Konrad Ekhof" Hamburg . Eligible to participate in the competition are state drama schools and training institutes that are members of the “Standing Commission for Drama” (SKS) or, if the level of training is equivalent, on the recommendation of the Federal Competition's Board of Trustees. The guidelines of the competition regulate further details.

In addition, the meeting serves as a practical exchange of experiences in seminars and workshops between drama students and university teachers and with actors, directors, authors and dramaturges from professional practice, as well as the examination of technical-aesthetic media. The meeting is recorded in documentation and evaluated. The sponsor of the Theatertreffen is the European Theater Academy GmbH "Konrad Ekhof" Hamburg .

The drama schools participate in the competition announced by the BMBF with theater productions by drama students in the higher semesters. Each year, the award winners are determined by an independent specialist jury of German-speaking actors, directors and dramaturges. The prizes awarded are:

Advancement awards for acting students

Promotion prizes for drama students from the Federal Minister for Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany are awarded as solo prizes for drama students as well as ensemble prizes. They are linked to cash prizes totaling € 25,000 (2018).

Ensemble Prize

The "Ensemble Prize" is awarded every two years alternately as the "Max Reinhardt Prize" from the Max Reinhardt Seminar of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna or from the Conference of the Universities of the Performing Arts and Literary Writing Switzerland (KDKS) for an ensemble that "makes the pioneering innovations visible in its work". The prize money is € 10,000 (2018).

Student price

The student prize was donated by actress and lecturer Regine Lutz on the occasion of the 2001 Theatertreffen in Bern. From 2014 to 2016, the actor and Gerd Wameling, who teaches at the Berlin University of the Arts , succeeded him. The award has been financed by Friedrich Barner, Managing Director of Schaubühne Berlin, since 2017. The prize is awarded after the official student participants have voted for the best acting ensemble work and is endowed with € 2,000 (2018).

Marina buses price

The prize, donated in memoriam by the husband Friedrich Springorum and friends of the actress, lecturer and former managing director of the European Theater Academy Konrad Ekhof, Marina Busse, who died in 2015, is awarded to a student for her special individual acting achievements. The prize money is 1000 euros (2018).
