Klaus Missbach (born 1957 in Nuremberg ) is a German dramaturge and author . Since 2009 he has been chief dramaturge at the Vienna Burgtheater .

life and work

Missbach studied American , German and theater studies at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . During his studies he worked as an assistant director and editor. From 1982 to 1990 - while Hansjörg Utzerath was in charge of directorship - he was engaged as a dramaturge at the Staatstheater Nürnberg , where in 1989 he created a critical stage version of Karl Alois Schenzinger's propaganda film Hitlerjunge Quex , which Utzerath directed.
