Lena Stolze

Lena Stolze (born August 8, 1956 in East Berlin ) is a German - Austrian actress .

Life

Lena Stolze was born in the eastern part of Berlin as the daughter of the tenor Gerhard Stolze (1926–1979). In August 1961 the family left the GDR and went to Vienna. In 1974 Stolze studied German and art history in Munich, in 1975 she began her training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna , and in 1976 Rudolf Noelte engaged her for his staging of Gerhart Hauptmann's Die Ratten at the Freie Volksbühne in Berlin.

From 1977 she was at the Vienna Burgtheater , until 1984 at the Residenztheater in Munich, from 1984 to 1992 a member of the ensemble of the Thalia Theater in Hamburg . She worked at the Schauspiel Frankfurt , at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and at the Salzburg Festival .

Lena Stolze is married to the dramaturge Michael Eberth . She has three children and lives in Berlin.

Film career

Lena Stolze also became known outside the theater in 1982 with the role of Sophie Scholl in her first film The White Rose by Michael Verhoeven . In the same year she played Sophie Scholl in Percy Adlon's film Five Last Days . For both films she received a federal film award. She had another great international success with Michael Verhoeven's film The Terrible Girl (1990). The film was nominated for an Oscar, and Stolze again received numerous awards and her second Federal Film Prize. Lena Stolze has since acted in numerous cinema and television films.
