Innschuldsengel is a German television film by Thomas Jacob from 2001. It is the twentieth film contribution in the ZDF crime film series Stubbe - Von Fall zu Fall with Wolfgang Stumph in the title role.

action

Chief Inspector Wilfried Stubbe called to a new case. A restaurant driver and a masseuse died within a very short time. After a short research, it is clear that both deaths are connected, because the masseuse Marianne Frank was poisoned and had eaten from a delivery that the driver made. It turns out that it was not the killed driver who had handed over the shopping cart, but another man. After the initial investigations, it is clear to Stubbe that the driver was deliberately lured to a bogus address where the perpetrator was lurking in ambush and who probably “only” wanted to poison the food while the driver had left the car to deliver his order . Since the driver probably caught him doing it, he too died. The manipulated delivery was for regular customer Eva Gohl, who was Marianne Frank's guest. Thus, the perpetrator has probably killed the wrong victim and there is a risk that he will strike again. After planning and execution, Stubbe and Zimmermann suspect a contract killer. Eva Gohl allegedly cannot imagine who wants to kill her, but it turns out that she has a rich admirer and is financially supported by him. Although she does not reveal the name, Stubbe finds the man. It is the married entrepreneur Robert Mars. The fact that the relationship has existed for two years, but only now a killer has been set on Eva Gohl, leads Stubbe to suspect that the lover is pregnant and this fact messed up the relationship.

Eva Gohl hides with a friend and contacts Robert Mars about her terms. She makes it unmistakably clear to him that she thinks he is the murderer and therefore demands some kind of hush money from him. For his part, Stubbe goes on the offensive and reports to Sylvia Mars about her husband's affair. Since he also considers Robert Mars to be the client, he wants to take away the reason for the planned murder. That works, but now the whole thing is turning. Sylvia Mars confronts her husband and learns the contact details of the killer. So she plays with the idea of having her husband killed, which Stubbe seems to suspect. He can persuade her to set a trap for the killer, which works and the killer can be arrested.

Subplot

Wilfried Stubbe gets a surprise visit from his childhood sweetheart Lisa Henschel from Dresden, whom he last saw 20 years ago. He is irritated, but then asks her into the house and introduces her to his family. The memory of "back then" is clearly unpleasant for Stubbe and Lisa Henschel puzzles the Stubbe family. It looks like she has nested herself very cleverly with them and everyone can see that something is wrong with her. It doesn't take long before she comes out and declares that her whole life is in ruins right now. She would have started therapy to get everything back under control and that included facing her past, which she would have managed now.

background

The film was shot in and around Hamburg and premiered on December 22, 2001 at 8:15 p.m. on ZDF .

criticism

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm found innocent angels "snoring". The television film, for example, has “a lot of hangers”, which leads to the fact that in the end you feel “as if you had seen 20 in a row”. They gave a medium score by pointing to the side with their thumbs.
