Stubbe sucht rot is a German television film by Christa Mühl from 1995. It is the second film in the ZDF crime film series Stubbe - Von Fall zu Fall with Wolfgang Stumph in the title role.

action

After moving with her family to Hamburg, Caroline Stubbe successfully applied to a nursery . For her husband Wilfried Stubbe it turns out to be problematic to get his turbulent family life and his job under one roof. In the short term, Charlotte also has health problems that Wilfried now has to take care of. Daughter Christiane has settled in very well in Hamburg, when one of her new classmates is kidnapped before her eyes. Little did the perpetrators know that they kidnapped the wrong girl. Not Susi Winter, but the daughter of the wealthy Jensens was supposed to be kidnapped. The 10-year-old Christiane Stubbe, as a direct witness, is very burdened by the event, so her father would like to solve the case as soon as possible, but his superior wants to exclude him, as a co-affected person, from the direct investigation due to bias and passes this on to Wilfried's colleague Zimmermann Management.

After the Jensen family receives a ransom demand and is very reluctant, both the kidnappers and the police realize that they have made a serious mistake and that the girl's life is in great danger. Katja Jensen receives personal protection for safety in case the kidnappers strike again. They now report to Katja with a letter so that she can influence her father so that he pays the ransom anyway. Since Katja doesn't trust her father, she wants to help her best friend herself. To do this, she gathers all the valuable jewelry in the house and takes a large amount of cash from the safe. Christiane Stubbe accompanies you on the way to the specified delivery point for the ransom. Her parents now notice the absence of their daughters and fear the worst. They are accordingly surprised when the girls reappear safely and pretend to have been to the cinema. Christiane's father and the police have no inkling of the girls going it alone, who are now eagerly awaiting Susi's release. But the kidnappers come back with further demands and specific instructions. While Katja is ready to obey the instructions, Christiane has doubts and is of the opinion that it is better to call the police. With a heavy heart she lets her father in on her adventure, who immediately starts the manhunt for Katja, who is already alone on the way to the kidnappers. With Christiane's tip the kidnappers can be caught at the place where the money was handed over. However, the two men are silent and the investigators have to find out on their own where the girl could be hidden. One hot lead leads to a bridge that one of the perpetrators worked on months ago. The Susi can actually be found here.
