Karin Düwel

Karin Düwel (born February 9, 1954 in Berlin ) is a German actress .

Life

After graduating from high school, Karin Düwel applied to the drama school and was rejected there because of immaturity. Therefore, she learned the job of a train conductor at the Deutsche Reichsbahn , which she also practiced for a long time. After reapplying, she studied at the Rostock State Drama School between 1973 and 1976. From 1976 to 1978 an engagement at the Thuringian State Theater Rudolstadt followed. She celebrated her big breakthrough in the GDR's cinema and television in 1978 with the role of Sabine Wulff in the drama of the same name directed by Erwin Stranka . For this she was honored as the best young actress at the 1st National Feature Film Festival of the GDR in 1980.

From then on she could be seen in numerous television and cinema films in the GDR. In 1982 she played the main role of Petra , a self-confident and emancipated young woman, in a film by Police Call 110 . Numerous roles in this crime film series followed, in which she appeared as an investigator and victim, and from 2007 to 2013 she portrayed the life partner of Halle commissioner Herbert Schneider .

A well-known role of Düwel was that of the teacher Prohaska in the children's film Das Schulgespenst , which was awarded in 1987 in both the GDR and the FRG. She also played a leading role in the DEFA feature film Blonder Tango (1986).

Düwel continued her career after German reunification. From 1995 to 1999 she was Dr. Lilli Schwarzenberg-Teschner can be seen at Walter Plathe's side in the series Der Landarzt . Düwel also took on episode roles in many German television series, including Our Charly , SOKO Wismar , A strong team , Bülowbogen practice , In all friendship , Hello, Onkel Doc! and Der Bulle von Tölz . She also played in the crime scene .

At the theater, Düwel received several guest engagements and appeared as Molly in Die Mausefalle by Agatha Christie as well as Jelena in Kleinbürger by Maxim Gorki or as Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream by William Shakespeare .

In the ZDF telenovela Paths to Happiness - Traces in the Sand , broadcast from May to September 2012 , she played the role of Ulla Sieverstedt throughout.
