Bloody Money is a German crime film by Hans Werner from 2010. It is the 309th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 and the 43rd case for the Halle inspectors Schmücke and Schneider . It is the first time that Commissioner Nora Lindner ( Isabell Gerschke ) has stood by her new colleagues. The film was in the 5 April 2010 First for prime time broadcast for the first time.

action

In a hardware store in Halle, shortly after the shop closes, a masked criminal breaks into the office and demands the daily income. When he notices that hardware store manager Weller has recognized him, he shoots him and takes two of the women hostage who have to take him from the crime scene in their car. He releases one of the women in between and drives on alone with Rita Dreher, whom he also lets go unscathed a short time later.

The police are notified and when they arrive at the hardware store as jewelry and tailors , their new assistant, the young superintendent Nora Lindner, awaits them. She has already started a manhunt and hears the witnesses, what is going on a little too quickly in jewelry.

A first suspicion falls on Weller's wife, who lives separated from her husband and has a new partner. Allegedly, the separation ended amicably and Mathias Kirch became friends with Weller. In the meantime, an attack has been carried out on him in the hospital, so that he is now in a coma.

The next day, Wellers' doctor abducted the daughter. The kidnapper demands that she let Weller die. Although Dr. Lund is determined to meet the demand, but in the end she does not manage to do it, but confides in Commissioner Schneider. He calls for help from Schmücke and Lindner, who work to ensure that everything is arranged as if Weller had actually died, but that he was moved to another clinic for his safety. The plan succeeds, but the child is not released as quickly as hoped.

Schmücke and Schneider all the time consider Weller's ex-wife and her partner to be suspect, but it is proven that he was not in Germany at the time of the kidnapping. After a tip from a hardware store employee, Rita Dreher's friend comes under suspicion. Ralph Herder is questioned and initially denies, but then gives himself away. He admits he lost his nerve when he realized that Weller recognized him. However, he would have nothing to do with another murder attempt and the kidnapping of the child. While Schmücke and Schneider arrest Ralph Herder, their new colleague Lindner is looking for the child's hiding place. Via a cell phone location, it must be near the office of Mathias Kirch, Weller's ex-wife's partner. After Lindner actually finds the child, the kidnapper, who turns out to be a woman, can also be caught. It's about Rita Dreher, who explains that she just wanted to finish the action and that she hated Weller profoundly.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv rates this police call very positively. He says: “'Bloody money' is a utility crime that suggests that things could be a little faster in the future at 'Polizeiruf 110' from Halle.” “It's a shame that it starts again there is only one Whodunit with the usual suspects, which the crime-savvy viewer will quickly discover - both in terms of the perpetrator and the dramaturgical confusion. If you don't look so closely for the first 20 minutes - you will have more fun guessing killer. And the kidnapping case at least brings the necessary tension into play that carries the crime thriller across the finish line with some certainty. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm gave it a medium rating (thumbs to the side) and wrote "Gerschke brought a gust of fresh wind to the Saale - until 2012 the Halle investigators were shifting" and drew the overall conclusion: "A fresh cell cure without side effects".
