occupation

Risk is a German crime film by Thorsten Schmidt from 2010. It is the 314th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 , the 44th case for the Halle inspectors Schmücke and Schneider and the second case for the superintendent Nora Lindner ( Isabell Gerschke ).

action

The body of the seventeen-year-old high school student Nadine Iwanowski is found in a mine tunnel in the Harz Mountains . Commissioners Schmücke and Schneider , together with Commissioner Lindner, first shed light on the young woman's environment. Nadine worked in the tennis club. According to the investigation, she must have met someone who was very likely her murderer immediately after work. The commissioners hope to track down the perpetrator through the surveillance recordings of the tennis court, but the relevant hard drives have been stolen.

Nadine's closest friends include Patrick Funke and Daniel Reimers, who were also close friends with her. Together they were known as the “ Troika ” and have gone through “thick and thin”. When the coroner finds out that Nadine was six weeks pregnant, the case takes a new turn: jealousy between the two boys. Patrick Funke is interrogated and admits that he was in love with Nadine, but he would have accepted her decision for Daniel, after all, Daniel is also his best friend.

They learn that Nadine's family has got into financial difficulties due to the construction of a new house and the conclusion of an insurance contract. That is why Nadine had contacted Volker Kanellas, the head of the Halleschen Bank and member of the tennis club. Before they can ask Kanellas more about it, he is attacked. In business terms, he has a lot to do with Patrick's father, who works as a financial service provider and always refers his customers to him. The forensic technicians find footage from the tennis club's surveillance camera on Kanella's computer, showing him arguing with Nadine, suggesting blackmail. It turns out, however, that Nadine and her two friends had staged these recordings in order to be able to pressure Kanellas into granting her parents a loan extension. The situation escalated, Nadine fell and was killed. Kanellas had wanted to dispose of the body in the tunnel with the help of Patrick's father, whom Richard Funke knew from his excursions as a hobby animal photographer. Patrick and Daniel had tried to the last to carry out their plan in Nadine's favor and attacked Kanellas to prevent the foreclosure of Ivanovsky's house.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv says appreciatively: “The 'police call' from Halle is looking up. The fresh cell treatment that was given to the old-fashioned duo Jaecki Schwarz and Wolfgang Winkler [...] continues in [...]. The generation conflict is approached in a very honest way - but even for that one is grateful in the 'Polizeiruf' east branch with its Muppet-Show-like Nörgel-Duo. Three inspectors in general, often investigating in parallel, and Lindner alias Gerschke in particular, bring speed to the story, which despite the enormous density of plot does not get lost in the approximate, but repeatedly - often with a tough cut - jumps into new situations. The director Thorsten Schmidt ('Deadline'), who is young by MDR 'police call' standards, is good for the dramaturgical concept. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm gave it a medium rating (thumbs to the side) and commented critically: "At least there is no risk of heart attack here".
