The Saxonia Media Filmproduktion mbH is a Company founded in 1995 by German film production -Unternehmen based in Saxony Leipzig and one of the five leading German producer Series. The shares are held by Bavaria Film (51%) and DREFA Media Holding (49%), which is a subsidiary of Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk (MDR). Saxonia Media's core business is television productions. Around 5,000 minutes of broadcasting (around 83 broadcasting hours) are produced annually, including ARD television series such as In allerfreund , films for the Tatort and Polizeiruf 110 series, and television films. There are also children's and animation formats and cinema films. Saxonia Media employs around 25 permanent employees and around 200 freelance workers in various productions every year.
