The Little King Macius (alternative title: The Little King and His Friends , or Macius for short ) is an animated series that was produced between 2001 and 2007 . It is based on the children's novel Król Macius Pierwszy (1923, German: King Hänschen I ) by Janusz Korczak .

action

After the king of the country and father of the nine-year-old boy Macius dies, Macius is to be crowned as the new king. However, Macius does not know how to deal with the situation and wonders if he even wants that and is up to the tasks as king. The general notices this and tries to seize this opportunity to come to power. He has Erasmus, Macius Tutor and the only real confidante kidnapped, with the intention that Macius thereby renounce the throne. While searching for Erasmus, Macius meets the street boy Felix and his friends Hanna and Anton, with whom he becomes friends and who help them to save Erasmus.

Production and publication

The series was produced in German , French , Hungarian and Polish and was produced between 2001 and 2007. Directed by Sandor Jesse and Lutz Stützner. On screenplay Andreas Knaup, Inès Keerl, Anna Knigge, Jens Becker, Bernd Roeder-Mahlow and Hans-Werner Honert involved. The music was coordinated by François Elie Roulin and + Editions Musicales.

The German premiere took place on November 18, 2002 on KIKA . Later broadcasts also took place on Das Erste , SWR and rbb .

On January 1, 2010, the film The Little King Macius was released . On November 17, 2002, a making-of of the series was also published. The authors of the film were Inés Keerl, Hans-Werner Honert and Bernd Roeder.
