Finally Saturday! is a German youth series that was filmed in Bamberg on behalf of Bayerischer Rundfunk from 2006 to 2008 . It was produced by the production company Saxonia Media GmbH . The successful Australian series Streetsmartz initially served as a direct model, and even the names of the main characters were partially adopted.
Finally Saturday! is also the name of the band that the series is about. The band plays pop rock with German lyrics. All songs and the background motifs were created especially for the series.
The first season of the series was broadcast on Saturday mornings from November 11, 2006 to May 19, 2007 and repeated by several third television programs and KiKA . The second season was broadcast on ARD on February 16, 2008 and was also repeated in the third programs and in KiKA.
action
Vinnie, Pip, Max, Sven, Ela, Lorenz, Georg, Suse, Jule and Felix and later Moritz, Ebse and Patrick are a loose clique. They are between nine and seventeen years old and live in Bamberg. From their ranks they found a band called Endlich Saturday! .
The young people compose songs and also record them. They have the desire to get a record deal with their band . They are also confronted with typical everyday problems for their age group, such as B. School, parents and beginning love.
The individual episodes always start on a Saturday.
First season
The kids start the band. They use an old locomotive shed as a rehearsal room, which they keep from demolition. But there are problems: The father of Lorenz, the band's songwriter, doesn't want him to be a musician. There is also trouble with the accurate and constantly bad-tempered neighbor, Mrs. Knolle. Last but not least, there are also problems between the teenagers, about love and jealousy, misunderstandings and competition. But in the end the band always sticks together and can master all problems: Lorenz's father begins to support him, Mrs. Knolle laughs often and the band even turns the rescued locomotive shed into a music club.
Second season
New hurdles arise for the band: After their first big performance, the system is broken, a replacement is needed. Band manager Vinnie is on his own with the technology, as Lorenz, who works as a sound engineer, is on a school exchange in Australia. Then Vinnie breaks his leg too. But the clique gets reinforcements: In addition to Moritz and Ebse, Patrick also joins the kids, who apparently can fix everything.
But because Vinnie is no longer into singer Maxine and now turns to Pip, the group breaks up. Maxine wins Suse and the three newcomers for their own band. The others are finally staying on Saturday! loyal, only the only drummer, Sven, is needed in both bands and so sits between the chairs. When it turns out that Pip can't sing well, Vinnie picks up the microphone himself.
Finally Lorenz comes back from Australia. There he learned percussion and now joins Maxine's band as a drummer. But the two groups alone have little success. Then comes a tempting offer: The young people should apply with their band for a TV appearance. Vinnie realizes that they can only do this together and makes it, finally Saturday! to reunite. In the end, the band appears on the talent show on television.

Running gags
- Vinnie always uses the phrase "No problem!" To reassure others when a difficult situation arises that he obviously cannot cope with - but he is mostly lucky and it works, even if he often does not respond alone the solution is involved. In episode 47, Patze replies to "No problem!": "Whenever you say 'no problem', I get such a strange feeling in the stomach area!" Later, in the same episode, Patze also uses the phrase, which Vinnie says: " Hey, there's only one person here who says 'no problem', and that's me! "
- Suse has a weak bladder, especially when she is excited - the band comments on the question of where Suse is with "Crouching behind the bush, as always!" Or "On the toilet!"
- Patze never misses an opportunity to pursue his second hobby - eating. With that he sometimes drives the band crazy when he just leaves everything for dinner.
