occupation

Death of an Investigator is a German crime film by Wolfgang Münstermann from 2007. It is the 287th episode in the film series Polizeiruf 110 and the 35th case for Schmücke and Schneider . This time they have to solve the death of a civil investigator.

action

Late in the evening, the civil investigator Stefan Häfner was found shot dead in his apartment. The inspectors Schmücke and Schneider learn that the investigator is currently investigating the fugitive bank robber Robert Sakowski and is obviously "blown". Since Sakowski's wife works with the police and had met with Häfner very often, the husband's act of revenge is likely. Schmücke has Anja Sakowski and her son observed, but the fugitive is careful.

Gradually Robert Sakowski runs out of money and forces his brother-in-law to go to the bank with him. Police officers become aware of the two and Sakowski can finally be arrested. He denies to have anything to do with the murder of the investigator and unfortunately there are no traces at the scene that point to Sakowski. Schmücke finds out that Stefan Häfner has also built a relationship with Sakowski's sister as part of his work. This should not have escaped his fiancée, the Chief Police Officer Pia Hesse, and so an act of jealousy cannot be ruled out. When the commissioners check Anja Sakowski's alibi, they notice inconsistencies and arrest her. She had found out that Häfner had only used her as a decoy while she saw the great love in him. Out of disappointment, she took his pistol and fired.

criticism

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv comes to the conclusion: “Everything is the same in Halle: The 'police call - death of an investigator' seamlessly ties in with the leisurely pace of Mr Schmücke & Schneider. Less 'a strange couple', more real thriller - but as always with a lot of head and footwork. […] The very prominent cast of Nadeshda Brennicke and Katharina Wackernagel can't tear anything with this book and this direction. "

In Kino.de states: "With a bit of goodwill has thus quite provided the film's charms, you can see about certain details of time."

Frank Kober at telekritik.de tears up this episode and says: “The story is awkwardly bobbing around . The question-answer games only make you yawn again. And there is no more than a few chuckles in the pulp of unimagination. Yes, Schwarz and Winkler are well on their way back to the crypt. To where it smells of old sins and where even small kitties are overwhelmed by the great wailing. "

The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm only gave it a medium rating (thumbs to the side) and wrote: “Leisurely crime routine from Halle”.
