Pasquale Aleardi (born June 1, 1971 in Dietikon , Canton of Zurich ) is a Swiss film actor and musician .

Life

Pasquale Aleardi is the son of Greek-Italian emigrants and grew up trilingual ( German , Italian and Greek ). He describes his youth as "very loud", a television set was on non-stop in almost every room in his parents' house. Fascinated by his heroes, who flickered on the TV screen 24 hours a day, he decided not to become a lawyer as his parents planned, but to attend the Zurich Theater School after graduating from high school in 1992 .

Aleardi was hired for his first leading Swiss film role in Tschäss during his training . Despite the sudden success, he finished the theater school in 1995 and went to Germany , where he accepted engagements at theaters in Bonn , Düsseldorf and Cologne .

After several theater successes on German stages with pieces such as The big bang of Arthur Miller , his interest focused on the movie. For example, he played alongside Veronica Ferres in the television film Für Immer Verloren , for his German film debut Nachts im Park he was cast alongside Heike Makatsch and Heino Ferch with the leading role. In Brecht film version Baal he played the role of Ekart next Matthias Schweighofer , and his portrayal of JD Salinas in the science fiction - horror film Resident Evil gave him the first international stage.

Pasquale Aleardi landed a success in his old homeland: As copilot Peter Landolt , Pasquale Aleardi celebrated a box office success in the Swiss cinema production Grounding - The Last Days of Swissair in January 2006 .

In Germany in the spring of 2006, Aleardi starred in the film Schöne Leben at the Berlinale , as well as in the theater adaptation of Frank Wedekind's Lulu . He demonstrated his comedy talent in the Anke Engelke series Women's Stories. In the fall of 2006, the German cinema comedy Wo ist Fred? , in which Aleardi makes life difficult as self-centered marketing managers Alexandra Maria Lara , Jürgen Vogel and Til Schweiger . At the same time, the television production Süssheiten started in Switzerland , in which he, as a charming blender, tries to save his company from ruin with all his tricks. In 2015 Aleardi played the lead role of lawyer Billy Flynn in the musical Chicago in Stuttgart .

In 2020, Aleardi received a nomination for the German Film Award for his supporting role as the on-board magician Costa in Philipp Stölzl's musical film I've never been to New York (2019) .

Pasquale Aleardi lives in Berlin , speaks five languages; besides acting, music is his second passion. He is active as a singer, plays the piano and has been a member of the Cologne music project Big Gee since 2004 .
