Crazy About Clara is a German television series that was produced by teamWorx Television und Film GmbH in Berlin on behalf of the TV broadcaster ProSieben . It is an eight-part adaptation of the Clara Sheller series idea , which has already been produced and broadcast as a national version in France and Italy.

29-year-old Clara ( Julia-Maria Köhler ), who lives with her good, gay friend Paul ( Sascha Göpel ) in an apartment in Berlin, feels lonely and tries hard to find a suitable man for herself. However, this happens with obstacles. After spending a night with her gay boyfriend, she discovers that he is pregnant with her. The fact that her boss of the tabloid newspaper she works for is out of the question as a father is due to the fact that he cannot father children. Meanwhile, Paul meets his first great love, who even moves in with him and Clara. But the great love for Paul is not mutual and he separates from him. Meanwhile, Clara torments herself with the thought of how and if she should tell him that he is pregnant. When she tells him about it and he gradually decides to have the child, Clara loses the child.

Production and broadcast

The eight episodes of the first and last season were shot in 2006, but the start of the series has been postponed several times. ProSieben showed the first two episodes on January 11 and 18, 2007 at 8:15 p.m., but postponed the broadcast of the series to 10:15 p.m. from January 25, after the ratings for the second episode had already dropped below the 1 million mark had fallen. Even on the new slot, the production only achieved an average market share of 5.4 percent in the advertising-relevant target group, which is why the station was forced to broadcast the last two episodes after midnight. The last episode saw 210,000 viewers with a market share of 5.4 percent. On average, Crazy About Clara achieved a market share of 3.8 percent.
