In August 2013, Teamworx was merged with the UFA subsidiaries Phoenix Film and UFA Fernsehproduktion to form the new company UFA Fiction as part of a restructuring of UFA .

history

teamWorx was founded in September 1998 by four shareholders: Nico Hofmann as producer and chairman of the management, Ariane Krampe as producer and deputy managing director, Doris Zander as producer and partner, Bettina Reiz as author and producer, and Wolf Bauer , managing director of UFA.

One of the first productions to attract attention for the company was Der Tunnel and the television film Der Tanz mit dem Teufel , which was broadcast on Sat.1 in 2001 and has won the Adolf Grimme Prize , the Bavarian Television Prize and the German Television Prize several times as well as at the end of the season , which was produced for ARD (BR) and was also awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize plus gold several times.

The television film Dresden set a record for fictional television productions with 12.68 million viewers when it was first broadcast on ZDF in 2006, which was almost repeated in 2007 with the multi-part Die Flucht with over 11 million viewers.

The producers who worked for teamWorx included Christian Granderath (head of the TV film department at NDR ), Joachim Kosack (head of the series and soap department at Sat.1 ) and Christian Rohde , who currently works for teamWorx are among others Producers Klaus Zimmermann , Benjamin Benedict and Sascha Schwingel . From 2008 teamWorx was by the producer Jochen Laube represented in Ludwigsburg, which became involved increasingly also for documentaries, such as The Ship of the striker by Heidi Specogna . Managing directors were Nico Hofmann, Ariane Krampe, Jürgen Schuster and, as a member of the management, Sascha Schwingel.

TeamWorx has been one of the organizers of the First Steps young film competition since it was founded .

Productions

teamWorx produced television productions of all styles for both public and private television stations in Germany. With around 30 permanent employees, more than 80 productions were realized, with around 20 new ones being added every year. TeamWorx was thus one of the top 5 German television producers.

teamWorx achieved a high level of awareness through so-called TV event productions and was considered one of the pioneers of this genre. These were elaborate, often multi-part TV productions, advertised by the commissioning broadcasters as flagship projects, often with a historical reference. Examples of such productions are Der Tunnel , Dresden or Die Sturmflut .

Other productions also include less elaborate television productions, such as a series of film adaptations of the novels and stories by Donna Leon , series (such as the series Innocent or the telenovela Alisa - Follow Your Heart ) and some award-winning films by well-known directors such as Christian Petzold ( Wolfsburg , Toter Mann ) or films by the director / writer duo Stefan Krohmer and Daniel Nocke ( end of the season , family groups ) that have won the Adolf Grimme Prize . TeamWorx also produced documentaries and feature films, such as Berlin: Symphony of a Big City by Thomas Schadt .
